macOS 10.15 Catalina: An Important Note About Registration

When updating to macOS 10.15 Catalina, you may be asked to re-enter your registration details.

Right now I’m preparing updates for macOS 10.15 Catalina and iOS 13 compatibility – the updates will be available soon. Users who have purchased Scrivener or Scapple for Mac from our own store should be aware of a potential minor issue, though: the folks at Paddle, who provide our licensing and activation scheme and code, have alerted us that an incompatibilty between the current version of their code and macOS Catalina means that users may be asked to re-enter their licence details after upgrading.

Paddle will be providing us with an updated version of their code for use with Catalina soon, and we should be releasing an update to Scrivener that incorporates this fix before macOS Catalina is released. However, any users on the current version of Scrivener for macOS (3.1.3) or earlier who update to Catalina may find that they are asked to re-enter their licence details. If this happens to you, don’t worry – just re-enter your licence and you should be good to go.

If you’ve lost your licence code, you can retrieve it here:

Please note that this issue will not affect users who bought via the Mac App Store.
