Crossgrading Scrivener

Get a discount if you have the Mac version of Scrivener and want to buy the Windows version or vice versa.

If you already own Scrivener for macOS and want to buy Scrivener for Windows, or if you own Scrivener for Windows and want to buy Scrivener for macOS, although you’ll need a new licence, you don’t have to pay the full price again.*

Scrivener for macOS or Windows is $59.99. Once you own one licence, you can get the other for the discounted price of $37.95. (Note that sales tax may be added to this rate depending on your local legislation.) Here’s how.

If You Own Scrivener for Windows and Want to Buy the Mac Version
  1. Download, install and run the macOS version on your Mac computer.
  2. When it launches, you’ll see the trial window with a “Buy Now” button and some links below it.
  3. Click on the “Have Scrivener for Windows?” link.
  4. When prompted, enter your name and your Scrivener for Windows serial number.
  5. Click the “Check for Discount” button.

Once your Scrivener for Windows licence has been validated, you’ll be able to buy Scrivener for macOS at the discounted price of $37.95.

If You Own Scrivener for macOS and Want to Buy the Windows Version
  1. Download, install and run the Windows version on your Windows computer.
  2. When it launches, you’ll see the trial window with a “Buy Now” button and some links below it.
  3. Click on the “Have Scrivener for macOS?” link.
  4. When prompted, enter your name and your Scrivener for macOS serial number.
  5. Click the “Check for Discount” button.

Once your Scrivener for macOS licence has been validated, you’ll be able to buy Scrivener for Windows at the discounted price of $37.95.

* Please note that, owing to data protection compliance, licences older than five years are not stored in our system and so cannot be used to cross-grade. Also, because Apple doesn’t share customer data with us, we are unable to provide cross-grade discounts to users who bought from the Mac App Store. Cross-grading is only available for Scrivener for Mac and Windows.
