Official release date time:
Scrivener 2.0 will be released for sale on the 1st November.
Yes, that’s a week later than planned, but fear not. We’ll be releasing a preview copy for download on the 25th October, so you’ll be able to start using it in just a few days. We need to take the extra week to add some finishing touches, that’s all. The preview copy will be short on a few things (such as project templates) which will be added for the on-sale version on 1st November, but we want to make sure that those participating in National Novel Writing Month this year are able to get their hands on Scrivener 2.0 a week before NaNoWriMo begins.
So, I’d better get back to those project templates and finishing touches right now…

YES! Finally, Scrivener 2 is (almost) here! Just “published” (to my blog) my first short story written with this amazing app, and now I can’t wait to try out all the goodness of version 2. Great work, guys
Excellent! Can’t wait to folder sync with iPad thru Dropbox – watta workflow!
I CAN’T WAIT!
Thank god I read through, my first thought was AHHHHHH, I won’t even get to start learning it before the first day of nanowrimo! But the 25 will be enough time I think. Very excited. Can’t wait to ‘come in from the scrivener cold.’
Perfection!
Scrivener has become an important part of my writing workflow. I’m sure there are many writers like me who are as excited for Scrivener 2.0 as they are for NaNoWriMo this year!
Congrats, and thank you for all the hard work you’ve put into this.
Keith, are we going to be able to preorder (for upgrades) on the 25th or earlier? My bday is on the 26th and I think my dad would like me to get a license code on that day.
IOUs are lame!
Yay! I’m really excited for 2.0. Glad that some version will be available for NaNo Kickoff. Will this preview version have the freeform corkboard?
Do I get a free version if I am the first dissertation published using 2.0? I have 1 week from preview release to due date. Maybe I can update quickly enough.
Congrats for getting this out (almost) on time. My iPad is all set up waiting for the upgrade. Now I will be able to edit the ‘opus magna’ on the go!
Thanks guys
By midnight (local time), 25 Oct 2010?
Any news on the release of the preview copy? I need to send an outline to a co-author and am waiting for that feature to land!
Thanks, Kathryn
25th, really ? Already 8PM here. I hope I’ll be able to leave home tomorrow morning with everything in sync on my ipad / iphone
I’d like to use Scrivener 2.0, but as far as I can tell it has not yet been officially released.
How do I know?
1) The product page still shows the old icon;
2) under the download buttons it says the product being offered includes a free update to Scrivener 2.0 – in other words this one is not it; and
3) there is no new thread in the announcements segment of the bulletin board that makes “the announcement”.
When can we download Scrivener 2.0? I’d prefer to dl the real thing with all the “finishing touches” in place. I don’t need the Nano writers promo version, just the real thing.
and yes, – I am looking forward to it!
It’s November 1 and no one’s got time to update the website to announce a revised release date for 2.0. Shame. Doesn’t inspire great confidence.
I had got a dream to make my own company, but I did not earn enough of money to do this. Thank goodness my mate advised to utilize the credit loans. So I received the bank loan and made real my old dream.
