Draw4Scriv. Free draw module for all (version 1.2.0.1)

Draw4Scriv
Draw4Scriv is for that fast drawing that makes the text easier to understand. It is not for the final illustration, but for placeholders.

Draw4Scriv is free and remain free.
Feel free to make a better implementation of the idea.
This is version 0.9 beta

Tell me if it is useful.
Tell me about bugs.

HOW TO USE IT

  1. Make some spacers in the icon bar:

  2. Then launch Draw4Scriv and option-drag the icon into place.

  3. Toggle the draw area on and off by clicking the icon.

Draw4Scriv is not really integrated into Scrivener, but floats above it.
If your daily setup of Scrivener does not change, Draw4Scriv will launch at the same spot each time.
(You will have to launch it manually)

There is no saving of files. When your drawing is finished you click the clipboard icon and your drawing is copied for easy pasting into your text.

A mini help is integrated. Click the info icon to see it.

Just downloaded it – looks useful - thanks!

Just want to be sure, in case I missed it - it doesn’t have a “free-hand” drawing option, correct?

Hi

It is not going to have bezier drawing a la illustrator, but I can put a pencil/brush tool in for more free drawing.

• Sketch tool added

A bug had sneaked in in the latest version.

Clicking the Info button would render the tools inactive.

The link above has been refreshed with a corrected version.

Please download again if you use it.

Hi

Draw4Scriv 1.1

dropbox.com/s/f8048zysx4vlj … %20%20.zip

New:
• Diamond graphic
• Resize width of drawing area to accommodate your papersize
• Control-drag to reposition drawing on canvas
• Layer control
• Click on canvas to make text movable

Note: Polygon, sketch and text can’t be Option-drag copied.

Since no one have replied, I take this as no one is using the module. And as such it will be the last update.

Mic

Please, give us a minute. I’m at work.

Seems to work well. I like the way control-drage moves everything.

Cheers,
Simon

I suspect writers are just quite slow to pick up new things, but I think this is a very cool little tool. Thank you!

One problem was I’d like to move the icon around but a simple drag didn’t work.

Draw4Scriv 1.2

New

• The line and polygon tool has been replaced with a single new polygon tool that allow you to draw the polygon directly with as many points as you want.
Double-click to edit the polygon.

• A grid to help you pace objects, show up while you are editing. It does not show on the final graphic.

• Draw4Scriv starts up without a dialogbox and countdown. Now opens very fast.

• Draw4Scriv now really remembers your last placement of the icon.

Bugfix:
• Now the icon should really really be where you last put it.

Mic

It stays where I put it, literally, which means that it stays in it’s position even if I switch to another program. So I have to hide it anytime I leave Scrivener? Or…?

Is there no way it could sort of blend in with the other Scrivener icons? Dynamically?
