Scribbler™ for iPhone -- Early Look

I bought Auteureist immediately after reading this, did check your website daily for these news.

Unfortunately there seems to be a problem with the download of the cover. ‘Download has been stopped’, it’s not possible to finish the download at the moment. I hope this will be only the problem for the next hours.

Looking forward to use the app!

Same problem here - not able to download… fix please?

Same here.

Well, it seems it’s a problem shared with other developers, check the blog: auteureist.posterous.com/

I guess we will be able to download when the icon of the app is showing right, instead of the broken chain image

They probably recruit just the best to run the App Store under prime working conditions, but the increasing amout of fart apps and political currectness to take care of might make things difficult at the moment.

I waded my way through the web equivalent to “press 1 to listen to elevator music, press 2 to be directed to another list of options…” and put in a support request to iTunes.

Apparently, my message is important to them and they’ll get to it when the lattes arrived. Or something.

Fingers crossed!

Excellent, Jot. And let me tell you, you don’t want to talk to a phone support person BEFORE the latte has arrived. So this is prolly all for the best for all of us.

Hello all,
I guess you all know that there is an issue with downloading the app from the App Store. I apologize to everyone on here who has tried and ran into it. If you’re not aware, I’ve been trying to resolve the problem with Apple (its something in how they set the app up on the store) but getting through to any real person seems to be nearly impossible.

I appreciate all who have attempted to purchase and as a result of the problem, have tried to contact or lodge a complaint or report with Apple. The more people Apple hears from, the more likely they will take notice.

Thanks again and you can see the latest status on auteureist.posterous.com

Are there any screenshots of the actual app anywhere? All I see on iTunes are pics of the preferences and one very informative one of the login screen.
On the site itself a free lite-version is mentioned, along with the info that it doesn’t exist, which is almost as helpful as the photo of the login screen.

There’s quite a few screen shots on the developer’s site:

auteureist.com/page2/page2.html

Apple already took my Euro 4,99 (ca. 7,50 Dollars) but hasn’t delivered the app yet…
Not your, the developer’s, fault, I know. Just wanted to let you know.

Thanks, Jot.

Good news: Auteureist is finally downloadable at the AppStore.

Bad news: it doesn’t work on the iPod touch.

Same here. Won’t upload to my iPod Touch.
“Not compatible” says iTunes. This is too bad.

I followed a hint from another Auteureist user:

Download Auteureist directly to your iPod touch.

On your iPod touch go to App Store, search for Auteureist and install it. Worked for me.

Thank you for the hint. It did work – but only once.
Auteureist crashed and I haven’t been able to open it since.
Seems like the developer still has quite a bit of work to do.
Can’t recommend buying the app at this point.

same here, works only once, both on iPod and iPhone :frowning: so hoping for 1.1…

Unfortunately it doesn’t work here no more either. Yesterday I did not have time to play with the application, therefore I did not open it a second time.

Indeed, there is still a lot of work to do for the developer, after all these problems to make the app downloadable, working and better. I confess I had a strange feeling when he wrote all the things he is about to change immediately after publishing his (not downloadable) version 1.0. Maybe he published too early, because he wanted to have the app ready for all the NaNo writers.

Waiting for 1.1. …

Update: I had a look at his blog: again a user helped the developer to find out a workaround: delete, reinstall and select a password for the app. Apparently this should work, before crashing again… I did not try. I’m tired with this for the moment.

What a pleasure to use Scrivener and WriteRoom for iPhone/iPod touch!

Keeps crashing. Also the UI is cumbersome and, to my taste, very unelegant. If you ask 5 Euro for an app it should it least be stable.

I will stick with WriteRoom and DocumentsToGo.

It works very well for me. Takes a while to get used to the interface, but the app shows promise.

I’m a bit annoyed with the bright button that won’t disappear in the full screen mode, and with two rows of the same buttons in browser view, but other than that, I find the app highly usable.
