This is me throwing my hat in the ring on this!
I mostly review theatre and film, and a friend of mine writes actual young adult novels. We were thinking we’d each write off of one chapter prompt (without cross-contamination) and then submit whichever turned out the best to reduce the pressure while increasing the accountability to actually do it. Is there any reason why this wouldn’t be in the spirit of the venture?

Sam, I’ve got no problem with you and your friend taking part the way you propose. I’ll need the full sign up details (contacts etc) for you both (details in the message I sent), so I can send out briefs, prepare copyright info and all that sort of stuff (you retain credit and copyright in the sections you write). As long as the final list of participants isn’t exactly divisible by 12, I can also include you both in different versions if you end up unable to decide which you prefer to submit! I’m not going to be able to independently adjudicate disputes on the day! 
They’re caused by bits of debris in the jelly-like vitreous humour that cast shadows on the retina. You should expect to see them in small numbers as you age and aren’t normally a sign of anything wrong. If you’re seeing a marked increase (especially in conjunction with flashes of light) or sudden changes, you should consult a specialist because it could be a symptom of a (very serious) posterior vitreous detachment.

Thank you for accepting my request to join the Write A Novel In A Day (or is it a Novella?) in June 2017.
I hope I manage to do it in a day. It’s taken me over 3 years to write a novel and it’s not finished yet. Well, it’s become a trilogy now. I blame Scrivener, of course, because it’s taken me 2 years to learn how to use it. There’s a very helpful Scrivener forum on Facebook but now I’ve registered on here, I expect I can get more help. I was very confused to learn that you don’t put the artwork for your cover in the cover folder. So confusing but such fun…

So, the plot for the event on the 17th is all worked out now and nicely divided into 12 chapters. I just need to power through and get all the briefing packs written up!
