Hi, just signed up for this programme and put the link on my blog. But Iām not convinced this works as well as some other affiliate programmes Iām part of. Iām still new to all this, so no expert by any means.
But when you click on the links, you are taken straight to a ābuy nowā page. Thatās OK, but I think people would actually prefer to find out more about the application first.
I have links to the Thesis theme on my blog, for example, which take the reader to sales and information pages, rather simply to a buy now button.
At present, I just have a Scrivener logo in my sidebar. If people know nothing about the app, but click on it to find out more, all they get is the option to hand over their credit card. They need to be taken to a sales page with good information and a chance to demo the software.
I donāt know what you can do about this, as it seems to be the way that esellerate works. But other programs do appear to be more flexible.
David has been looking into this recently - eSellerate have been helping him set up a landing page. It should be up any day, although Iāll wait for David to reply with an update.
Best,
Keith
Hello Simon,
After clicking the accept button to your sales affiliate request, the next thing I did was write an email to eSellerate. Excerpt below:
āHave Digital River got anywhere with the server issue yet? Every time a new sales affiliate joins, I wish we were offering them a better landing page!ā
We are definitely thinking along the same lines. At present a landing page with more Scrivener information has been developed (cut down version of literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.html), but eSellerate are having a problem with one of three servers that are used to facilitate this service. Their technicians have escalated the issue to Digital River. Once everything is okay behind the scenes, and I have learned how to communicate the landing page to sales affiliates, a better solution will be offered.
The best workaround I have seen thus far is this: daveulrich.net/blog/?page_id=2,
with our friend Pablo going the whole hog: scrivener.es/
We hope to provide you with a landing page soon where the only onus on you is to offer a Scrivener button on your website. Thanks for the prompt.
All the best,
David
I see youāve prompted them into action - much better now.
Now all I have to do is put some traffic your wayā¦ hmmmm.
Hello All,
Sales affiliates should have recently received an email (or two) relating to a landing page update. When following the email prompts for each Scrivener licence type, choose āScrivener Landing Pageā under ā2. Choose Landing Pageā rather than the defaulted āEZ Landing Pageā. You will notice that the HTML code under ā4. Paste the following HTML to your web siteā changes. This is the code that you should now use on your website if you would like a page of information related to the Scrivener application displayed when someone clicks on your sales affiliate link:
All the best,
David
Good luck with that traffic Simon!
Thanks for the reminder, DMJ.
Everything up and runningā¦
Keith I went to the link listed at the top of this post and tried to search for Scrivener to set up the Affiliate program but received the following. What do I do?

Indeed ā how do we find the affiliate link for the 2.0 version?
I donāt think the affiliate link for 2.0 is quite ready yet, sorry. Please drop David a line on sales AT literatureandlatte DOT com - please bear with him it takes him a while to get back to you, though, as he has been inundated with e-mails following the release, as we all have. Thank you for wanting to become affiliates!
Looks like the updated affiliate link isnāt quite ready yet. (Still comes up blank)
Hello,
The affiliate offering for Scrivener 2.0 should have been available since 8th November. I searched for āScrivenerā on the relevant eSellerate webpage affiliates.esellerate.net/affiliates/home.aspx and everything appears to be in order:
I did also notice that we are having affiliate commissions deducted from our sales reports, so I will assume that everything is working correctly. Please do let me know further details if you believe matters are otherwise though.
Many thanks,
David
Hi David - thanks for the reply. When searching, only the 1.X version seems to come up.

Searching for 2.0 comes up blank. Any ideas?
Actually found it. You need to go to āAvailable Products,ā search and then it comes up.
Odd why it wasnāt the other way, but that way works.
When I go to a coffee shop, I invariably see students grinding away with Microsoft Word to write their papers. About half of those students are using Macs.
At 8-10 dollars commission per sale, students could do pretty well being a local campus representative. And they could help get all of those students a much better and cheaper tool for their writing. Has anyone set themselves up as a local Scrivener expert/advocate at a University this way?
I just registered for the affiliate program, but canāt seem to find the Scrivener links. Can anyone help me out with this process? Thanks.
Hello Suzy,
As detailed above, please go here affiliates.esellerate.net/affiliates/home.aspx, press on View Products and then do a search for āScrivenerā. Good luck.
All the best,
David.
Thanks, David. Can you tell me when Scrivener will have the program available in a secure download for those of us who not own MACās? I know they have a version of it available, but Iām hesitant to download it to my computer, because of the possible virusā.
The Windows version has been secured; this was remedied some time ago. To be clear there was never a virus in it, but because it was brand new software that hadnāt yet been certified or used by many people, some virus scanners were producing warnings. You can download it from here. When the executable runs, make sure it is certified by Creative HQ in the screen that asks if you wish to allow it to run.
Hi David,
Regarding the W-8BEN form, do you know what the situation is with the ITIN and EIN numbers? Are these needed by esellerate? I was a little confused by the āif requiredā in question 9b.
If you want to load a book to the Apple iBookstore from the UK you must have an EIN at least.
Regards
Stephen
