Re: Is there any way to show pictures in the Outliner?

Can’t you use cork board mode for this? Ie. Split the screen and on one side have the cork board multiple view, with all the images showing, on the other the editor for the current document. There’s a default format for this (not on the Mac so I can’t remember the name exactly, but it’s something li...

Re: Will there be a support for .txt in Scratch Pad?

It's in the Mac version, so presumably it will reach Windows at some point soon.

Re: Keyboard shortcut to create new pages while typing in scrivenings??

The shortcut for New Page is cmd-n, which should do what you want. This is exactly the same in Scrivenings as in a single editor document, or in the Outline or Corkboard or Binder. (BTW, the Mac has a useful feature to discover this sort of thing: if you go to the help menu and in the search box typ...

Re: UI "bug": Columns Button on Outliner is ">" when it should be "..." or a cog

It's underneath the header bar and indicates that this is how to expand the outline with more columns. That seems logical enough, doesn't it?

Re: A Problem with Find

But your search did take place, didn't it? You told Scrivener to search in Notes (you had the cursor in the Notes panel) so that's what it did. That seems preferable to limiting Find to editor fields.

Re: New page with title for each part of a 4 part novel

Your info says that you're using the Windows version, but you've posted in the Mac forum.

The answer to your question will be different (for the time being, until Windows gets Version 3), so could you let us know which version you're using on which platform please?

Re: No connection wanted

Of course. In fact, youhave to set up a process before an iOS project can be synced with MacOS / Windows (basically you have to set a shared Dropbox folder). If you don't go through that process, then any project you create on the iPad will not be synced at all.

Re: lock binder order to prevent accidental reordering

You know when you did it though? 1) Do a search (cmd-shift-f) on .* (full stop star) and choose the option regex to get a list of all documents. 2) click on the little arrow next to ‘search results’ (and cmd-3 to put them into outline mode). 3) Add the ‘Modified Date’ column to the outline and sort ...

Re: lock binder order to prevent accidental reordering

If this happens again: 1. Ctl-cmd-g to do a quick search for the document's title (doesn't have to be the complete title) or text you know it contains, 2. Cmd-opt-r to show its position in the binder. (This may not be necessary in every case.) If you were working on that document recently, cmd-[ to ...

Re: Option for Window Resizing when show/hide Bindor or Inspector

It could be, I suppose. I think (don’t know) that the preferences are upgraded in this update for the new features and this may be an unintended consequence of that.

Re: Auto-completion of script elements: pop-up persists

A follow up to my initial report... The bug is still there with the iOS 12.1, but I’ve found a workaround in case anyone is interested, which is that you can dismiss the annoying persistent popup with cmd-. (Command + full stop). I’ve just discovered that this shortcut acts as the escape key (in som...

Re: Lost Folder Contents

Glad it helped! I wouldn't read the manual at this point (it's for dipping into, rather than reading), but if you can spare an hour to skim through the interactive tutorial (on the Help menu), then I think you'll find it really useful. No need to study it in depth how, but even a cursory look throug...

Re: Lost Folder Contents

Trying the obvious first: what happens when you click on the folder and then hit cmd-1 ? Cmd-1 will toggle the editor between 'single document mode'(you only see what it's in the Folder document itself) and 'scrivenings mode' (you see the text from all the subdocuments as well). As most folders don'...

Re: How to change Heading background with new dark mode?

Have a look in Preferences > Appearance > Main Editor > Colours The two settings are in Editor (ie the background to the main text) and Fixed Width Background . To change the colours, just click on the rectangle over the Choose Texture button, and you'll get the standard Apple Colour Swatch control....
