Re: Compile don´t keep Centered text. Scrivener 3

Hi,

If I understand correctly, you only want to this fixed for titles, right? If so, you just need to remove the indent in the Section Layout in Compile - are you using a custom Compile format?

Re: Reopen quick reference panels when opening projects

Ah, okay, yes, only project QR panels are restored, not panels that show an external bookmark. This is indeed a current limitation. I have made it so that the project bookmarks list is restored for documents on reopen, though.

All the best,
Keith

Re: Compile don´t keep Centered text. Scrivener 3

It sounds as though the centred text has a first line indent - this will cause it to be offset a little, because the first line indent will push it across. So remove the first line indent from the ruler for centred text.

Re: Can File --> Export export styles?

The RTF appeared perfect to me. I opened it in Word, clicked into he text, and sure enough, the two passages marked out in pink in Scrivener came out as using the "Noteworthy Quote" style in Word, and the passage marked out in green came out as using the "Notes from Research" sty...

Re: Lost ePub paragraph formatting

If you tick "Convert Markdown to rich text in text and notes", then Scrivener treats your project as though it was written in MultiMarkdown. MMD requires an empty line between paragraphs; paragraphs that follow immediately get merged. To me, it doesn't sound as though you are writing in MM...

Thinking of using the macOS 10.14 Mojave Beta? Read this.

If you are thinking of (or are) trying out the beta version of macOS 10.14 Mojave, please read this before posting here: Blog post (5th June 2018): macOS 10.14 Mojave, Dark Mode, iOS 12, Scrivener and Scapple If, after reading that, you need to post an issue in these forums, please make it clear tha...

Re: Can File --> Export export styles?

You'll need to zip up the file to attach it here, as the forum does not support RTF files being uploaded directly.

Re: Any such thing as a "column break" in Scrivener?

I'm afraid I don't know of anything that does this. The RTF spec does support column breaks (using the \column control), but I don't think there is anything in the macOS text system that gets converted to this. Apple's RTF converter is set up to convert form feed characters (U+000C) to page breaks i...

Re: Smart quotes fail on Amazon look-inside

I'm glad you have it sorted at last! And thanks for confirming what fixed it, as that does mean that the fix 3.0.3 has in place should have this sorted, which is great - this topic has been very useful.

Thanks for the kind plug in your blog post!

All the best,
Keith

Re: Reopen quick reference panels when opening projects

Hi, That's strange - I can't reproduce the issue, as QR panels reopen fine for me. Just to be clear, are the QR panels open when you close the project? It will only reopen QR panels that were open when the project was closed. There's no way to designate the size of a QR panel in advance, but once yo...

Re: Outliner Zoom

Zoom is only available for text views, which contain rich text and so cannot have the font size changed on the fly. For the outliner you should just change the font size, as you have done. When printing, the outliner font isn't used anyway, but is set via File > Page Setup > Scrivener (from the top ...

Re: Integration

Thanks for the kind words. Although there are no plans for an API (I'm not even sure how that would work, and we have limited resources being a very small team), have you looked at creating your own Compile formats for exporting to these other apps? In Scrivener 3, there is a whole raft of things yo...

Re: Advice about setting up a markdown document

There's nothing wrong with change the Preferences under Editing > Formatting - indeed, that's the point of them, so that you can set up formatting how you want! The other way is to do this via Project > Project Settings... > Formatting. There you can override the default formatting for a particular ...
