Re: Automatic Numbering of Clauses / Sections Throughout the Document

One thing you could do is use a style for such paragraphs, and then, in Compile's styles override area (when editing or creating a Compile format), you could add prefix for such paragraphs (e.g. <$n>) so that they are numbered during Compile. I've attached a quick sample project showing how this can...

Re: Compile for Word

Scrivener will use section breaks instead of regular page breaks in several circumstances. For instance: if you have a different header or footer set for front matter; if the header and footer on the page after a page break is different; if back matter is set to have a different header or footer; if...

Re: Keeping the sidebar updated when going to a linked document

Again, I'm not really sure what you are referencing, because nothing has changed here - nothing was focussed in the sidebar in v2 that isn't in v3. Perhaps you could clarify a little?

Re: Compact Corkboard/Timeline view (or better zoom)

You can already shrink the size of the cards down. The problem is that if it shrinks down too much (font and all), you won't be able to read anything and so it would be of limited use.

Re: Keywords no longer assigning to multiple docs - anyone else having this issue?

Strange - I can't reproduce this, as this is all working fine for me. What if you quit and restart Scrivener - do you still see the issue? Is this happening all of the time or are there any steps you need to take to get into the state where keywords only apply to the top document?

Re: Split editor layout question

Huh, that is curious. I was wondering why I never had this problem with my external monitor - although I use an iMac Pro for development, for writing and everything else I use a MacBook, and plug it into an external monitor when at my desk. But of course, I use an HDMI connection for that, so from y...

Re: Templates are gone?

Are you using the Mac App Store version or the version from our store? If you're using the version from our store, then the templates should all still be there, since Scrivener 3 uses the same Application Support folder as Scrivener 2 and does not touch them. If you're on the Mac App Store version, ...

Re: Targets also for

You can already do this using document targets. Just set a document target for a folder and then view the folder in scrivenings to see how you are doing, or show the "Total Target" column for that folder in the outliner.

Re: Split editor layout question

That is indeed very strange, and not something I've ever encountered or seen reported before. From your description, it sounds as though your whole screen is resizing somehow while the computer is sleeping, and then restoring itself on wake. Looking this up, there are a couple of posts out there on ...

Re: Praise + Feature Request: Favicons

Thanks for the kind words! And congratulations on finishing your book! The main problem with supporting favicon in URL shortcuts (I assume you mean in the Bookmarks area) is that it would require either Scrivener downloading the icons to show them every time the Bookmarks are shown, or saving all of...

Re: Scrivenings issue

If it didn't work like this, there would never be *any* way of only viewing the text of the folders without their subdocuments. There's also an element of consistency between the view modes here, though. When you select multiple folders, the editor is in "multiple folder" mode, and each vi...

Re: Scrivenings issue

This is absolutely the expected behaviour, and it works the same way in the corkboard and outliner views, too: - If you select multiple folders, then their contents will be shown in scrivenings and on the corkboard, and they will be displayed as expandable folders in the outliner. - If you select mu...
