Oh, I'd definitely write much better if I knew my chapter were first. Or if I had the skill.
I think the uncertainty of it all - genre, plot, chapter - is part of the appeal. I much prefer not knowing and having to guess. I've been consistently wrong about the placement of my chapter every time.
