Why isn't the Win version available on the front page the newest version?

I have been using Scrivener for nearly two years and I keep checking back every 3 months to see if Scrivener Windows is out yet (I hope to be able to use it in both places).

I am running 3.0.3 (3032) on a Mac airbook and today I downloaded the Windows trial version from the main Scrivener page and I when I tried to open my ongoing Scrivener project it tells me that:

"The project you are trying to open was created or saved using a newer version of Scrivener than the one you are currently using. You will need to update to open this file."

So where is the newer version of the trial so I can try it out?

Ok, so is there a version I can trial that will open my existing project?
And if so where can I find it?
