That was my iMac. I’m getting the same thing on my Macbook Air, and there I deleted Scrivener instead of overwriting it. 
Rebooting has not made any difference.
Another (?) error message. I deleted 3.0, cleaned out all the support files from Library, rebooted, and reinstalled. Still crashing, and no thread named Scrivener ever appears in the Activity Monitor.

FWIW, I’m on a 2010 iMac, 14Gb RAM, 512Gb SSD,
OSX 10.13.2 Beta (17C79a)
Mine opened fine the first time. I converted a Scriv2 project, then closed out. When I re-opened, it crashed straight away. So, I tried again and it worked fine. I’ve a 2017 MBP, latest OS patch.
Sorry to hear about the problem. I downloaded and opened Scriv. 3 on a Macbook 2009 with High Sierra. No problems.
Try creating a new user to log on as, and then log on as that new user. Does Scrivener crash for that user too? If not, then the issue must have something to do with a saved setting, a project it’s trying to load when it opens, or some such…
Also, while their tech support is likely to get slammed, you should probably email them directly; your issue on the forums may get lost in the shuffle. But please to let everyone know how the issue is/was solved.
In the mean-time, you can download V2 if you don’t have any backups so that you can keep working while trying to resolve your issue. You can also, before installing v2, rename v3 to something like “Scrivener3”, so that you can run both at the same time.

I’ve created a new user with Admin priveleges, downloaded and installed there, identical results. I’ll email Support.
Do you have a release version of High Sierra to test with?

My wife’s laptop is High Sierra, not Beta. As soon as she gets home, I can try it.
That was what I was going to suggest too. I haven’t tested on the 10.13.2 beta yet, only on 10.13.1. The crash indicates a code signing issue, which is very odd.
It seems to work fine on my wife’s Air, and she’s not on a beta.
I cloned my Air, reinstalled High Sierra, and was prepared to do an import from the clone, but it just rolled back to OSX 13.1. Ok, I didn’t think it worked that way, but ok. Scrivener still generates this error.

How are your “Security & Privacy” settings? You are set up to allow non-App Store apps, I assume? It’s weird that this is only happening on your machines and no one else’s, even on a release version of 10.13. Have you tried booting into Safe Mode to see if it works then?

I wiped my Air’s SSD and have been reinstalling everything from scratch. Taking off and nuking it from orbit has solved the problem (and made my 2011 Air run a little smoother), but it’s an extreme response that takes lots of time, that I’m unwilling to do on my iMac.
Both had their security settings allowing non-app-store apps.
Could you please try running it in Safe Mode on your iMac? (Let me know if you need instructions on how to do that–I assume you don’t as you sound tech-savvy.) I’m wondering if there’s something installed on both that’s causing the problem.

I am somewhat tech savvy, but don’t understand what this means from a diagnostic perspective, or how to deal with it.
It means there’s a conflict between one of your startup items and Scrivener.
As a first step, I’d make sure that they’re all up to date, and I’d remove any that aren’t being actively used, If that doesn’t resolve the issue, disable them all and turn them back on one by one until Scrivener breaks.

Same problem here. I have to reboot 2-3 times to Scrivener to open,… and I am not tech savvy enough to figure out any other resolutions.
