Issue: Adding notes in reading direction

Hello,

I enjoy using Scapple to make simple plots.

There’s a ”problem” when adding short, connected notes in the reading direction: The note area becomes very long when editing! Let me show you what I mean:

  1. What you want:

  2. You make the first note:
    1.png

  3. You now have to make the second note at an unnaturally large distance from the first:
    2.png

… and move it manually.

If you’re creating a long chain of events like this, it does get a little tiresome! :confused:

Could you make (it an option to make) the notes expand-as-you-type, instead of giving them a preset editing width?

What you get if you make a note “Jim is born”, press Ctrl-Alt-Cmd-Right arrow, Return (creates new note) and write “Mother dies in childbirth”:

Whatever you get. Don’t know how to add a link to the screen grab. But the point is you get two notes after each other, with a short arrow between them.
