When I crate a new project using Short Story Template there is the followind line in the document describin how to use it:

A “Notes” folder has been provided for project-level notes. This has been set as the default Bookmarks folder in Project > Project Settings, so that when you create a new document from the Bookmarks sidebar in a Quick Reference panel, the document will be added to this folder.

My question is: How do I ...create a new document from the Bookmarks sidebar in a Quick Reference panel... so ...the document will be added to this(Notes) folder.

I need to know how to do this. Please help.

Hi Krastev,

In the project you've created from the Short Story template project, open a doc (any doc, doesn't matter) as a Quick Ref window. Navigate > Open > As Quick Reference > select a doc

In the very bottom left corner of the Quick Ref window, click on the flag/book mark icon. That will open the Project Bookmarks sidebar.

In the very bottom left corner of the Project Bookmarks sidebar, click on the '+' . That will create a new document, and the document will automatically be bookmarked and will be created in the default bookmarks folder, which in this case is the Notes folder.

Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

Best,
Jim

Thank you, Jim,

Works like a charm.

What I was trying to do is to open the Bookmarks from the top right dropdown menu of the Quick Ref window and create a new document from there, but, of course, there isn't such an option.

Thanks for your help,

Tricky -- it does just what it says.

I thus had the opportunity forthwith, to learn how to create a bookmark to an already present document...

 Actually, there are several ways, but the easiest is to right-click the document title in the Binder, then select Add to Project Bookmarks in the drop-down menu.

Done. And nicely showing, particularly if you expand the Bookmarks window via it's lower right-hand arrows button.

Why do I think Scrivener has a function for just about everything?

Back to writing my pieces...
