I have Adblock installed on my iPod, that essentially filters ads out in all my browsers through a VPN. I haven't the foggiest notion how it all works but essentially I use google chrome on my iPod without ads. My concern is whether this type of app will affect in any ways files from being synched on Scrivener through Dropbox. Just wanted to check up in case.

It shouldn't matter, since no browsers or html transfers are involved in the Dropbox sync. But of course the best way to be sure of this would be to disable AdBlock and see how the sync behaves.

The Dropbox client, at least on my Windows machine, has settings for proxies. By default, those settings are to auto-detect proxies. The types it can be configured for are HTTP, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5.

Is your AdBlock extension doing anything to silently proxy your connections? If so, depending on the mechanism, it could be interfering with DropBox.

I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to matters like this, so please, if what I write sounds puerile please note I am writing about things I know little about.

How do you check if "the ad block extension is doing anything to silently block connections"? Please note this is on an iOS device to be synched with a Mac, not windows.

Sorry, I can't help you -- I'm not an iOS user. I borrowed a device so I could do the Scrivener beta.
