No? Just me? Okay then. <Cough>
As you were.

No, but I may have included a It's a Wonderful Life reference...

Forced into taking a pause by people who need the room where I'm writing. Almost done the first draft. I think I was at 2300? I'll probably be at or approaching 3k.

Holy cow! Meanwhile I struggle to reach 1,500 words.

Yeah, just cos you have to get from A to C via B, doesn't mean you can't do ASDFGBVC.
Wow, keyboard-based humour. I rock on this little sleep.

Correction, I've just checked, and the record is 4,979. The good thing was that those 4,979 words were good, entertaining, added emotion and tension, and made the world we were writing a bigger place. There's a reason why I use Keith's chapter from Lunar520 as an example in the briefing pack!

I so did not plan my day correctly for this, but I love it! WOO! Adrenaline rush, anyone?

Take a 15 minute break and do something completely different for a little bit.

How about I let you have a 'hall pass' to submit a bit later -- say, 11:15pm? As long as there are only a few stragglers I should be able to get things uploaded and compiled pretty quickly.

Thanks, that would be deeply appreciated. :) I think the problem is I have to know all this stuff about tech start-ups, and business legislation and contracts between owners and shareholders and god knows what else... and I'm floundering. I feel like I'm bullshitting into a gale that's blowing in my direction.

No problem. I would ask, though... do you *have* to know all that stuff?

This. And the answer is no.

Stories are about people. NiaD is all about development of the characters with some ancillary stuff thrown in. At least that's how I do it. Granted I've added 7 people that next chapter will need to deal with but... they don't know anything about these 7.

No... I didn't really do that. I closed that loop.

I hope!

I really liked this line. once I got into it I was able to disconnect the fear machine and turn lose the creativity. The one thing i hope I didn't do was alter the characters too much from what you had in mind. All the self sample people I know are... actually not good samples. I also wanted to leave some options for the unknown close which made it really hard to both soften and harden the traits. I like where it went.

What I had in mind is pretty much irrelevant. If I was worried about that I'd write the book myself!

I have no idea about legalities and tech start ups. I just made it all up. *nods* Sounds legit!
