I have a wife and 2 kids that I can only attribute to a wiggle, a giggle, and the realization that she was out of my league so I might as well be happy with her as a friend. 26 years marriage later, I can't imagine life without her. -Me 10/7/09

The deadline has always been 8pm. It's just that you guys are always four hours late! :)

To be fair to the pigmeister, it is Novel in a Day, not "write a chapter in 24 hours". How* is he supposed to compile and publish the thing if people don't send him their chapter until it is meant to already be online?

*"Magic" is not a valid answer in this context
Complete and utter NOMsense.

note to self: use magic encoder ring to protect contents of chapter. Send magic decoder ring to piggy at some point.

Unless piggy can read rot13. then piggy may not need decoder ring.

Agh, Rog! I am really sorry, but I am going to have to pull out of this year's NiaD. I have had a number of conflicting commitments on that day from the outset, which I thought I could work around, but now it appears that I will be spending 3+ hours travelling to/from a 6-hour event, slap bang in the middle of the designated time slot, and at my advanced age (with more need for a token amount of sleep than in my youth) I can't see a legitimate way of being able to guarantee submitting my contribution in the required timeframe. If you are desperate for an extra one for the sake of numbers, let me know and I can try my best to submit *something*, but I fear that anything written between midnight and 8am after a full day's travelling and before another full day of external commitments may not be worth anyone's while, so it's probably best if you give my slot to someone else. So very sorry.

Oh no! :(

You're going to miss out on the LAST* NIAD EVER! :(
(* - just like last year and the three before that).

Thanks for letting me know in plenty of time, though.

You want to discuss plot with a nihilistic, dipso, substance abusing, feckless parent? :?
I'm looking forward to the finished article.
Bring it on!!!
