It would be helpful to be able to select a group of stacked (or maybe even unstacked) notes and to be able to drag and cause the notes to space proportionally closer to or farther from each other vertically or horizontally.

I was working today with a group of notes that form a diamond pattern.
Narrow at the top and bottom, wide on the sides.
The result is 18 rounded ovals, in 5 different colors.
It would have been very helpful to use two drawing tools:
A "snap to grid" feature and guidelines that show vertical & horizontal centers.
Probably that's way beyond what KB wants to do with Scapple.
But it's so easy to rough out ideas in the program
That it would be nice to smooth out their alignment.
(I can hear a sigh of exasperation coming from Truro.)

There are a fair few alignment tools already in the Notes panel - did none of those do what you want?

As for spacing out stacked stacks more (as requested by the op), stacks are determined only by their alignment and their distance from the notes above, so this isn't possible.

All the best,
Keith

I went to the Format menu and found Alignment.
Didn't think to look for another one under Notes.
Distribute Vertically fixed me up,
And then I tried Align Edges, right and left.
Literally, copacetic, i.e. in excellent order.
