Hi, I just wanted to know what will happen on the next 30th April 2012.
A new release ? Or a time expand for the Beta ?
Because I put all my novel I'm working on on it :=)
Thanks

I haven't used the beta for work, but I'd still like to know the answer to this, too.

I had an issue installing--2 language packs wouldn't copy. I'm thinking this has something to do with their being special characters in the file name:

scriv_1103_install_error2.jpeg (28.94 KiB) Viewed 2144 times

scriv_1103_install_error.jpeg
scriv_1103_install_error.jpeg (108.14 KiB) Viewed 2144 times

Both times, though I was able to hit "Ignore," and the program appears to be working without them. Since they aren't German, Indonesian, or Latin, I think I'll be OK. :) (Not sure how many users of said languages in the pictures are going to be using WINE.)

This was reported for beta 1.1.0 but it seems to be back for beta 1.1.0.3. At least for me :P for I am not even sure of my notebook anymore as lately it proved to be able to produce some bugs nobody except me has to encounter :D
one more thing: The scratchpad works nicely now. It can also be made transparent, but it doesn't stay on top. I am not sure what the latest resolution is on this issue, but reporting just so you know.
And this time Scrivener is much snappier for me (better than the previous two betas)
Thanks for all the hard work,
Cheers,
Ayca

No lock for me, either. I guess you can tell how often I use it. ;)

The installation doesn't work quite right for me. After installing and trying to launch, I'm given an error message stating, "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."

Any advice? I received this same error previously when trying to install the 1.1.0.2 beta and it's still there for the 1.1.0.3 beta for me. The standard 1.0.3 install works fine.

BTW, I'm installing on Win7x64.

I've seen this also with the Windows 8 Consumer Preview 64-bit.

I have Windows 7 x64 (Core i5 - 3 Ggh 4 - Gb Ram), after the installation of any beta-version in any directory I receive an error similar to the above: "" The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail. ""
When installed in a virtual machine Windows XP SP3 beta also refuse to run with the message that the program is installed incorrectly.
Base version works fine.

The padlock icon in the bottom right of the inspector is still missing in 1.1.0.4

I reported the same issue just a few posts earlier. As it turns out, I was able to resolve the issue by downloading the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)" that can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5582.

Thank you! It helped. I have installed Microsoft Visual C + + 2005 and Microsoft Visual C + + 2010 but the 2008 version just recently been removed along with the game.

Hi Lee,

it would be very helpful to get a list of fixed errors in 1.1.04 so that we don't post bugs again that haven't been fixed yet.
Cheers,
Franz-Josef
