Linux on PowerPC

Is there any way to get Scrivener to run on a PPC (an old G4 tower in my case) running Ubuntu 10.10?

Only under an emulator. Scrivener is compiled for x86 (not even amd64):

Code: Select all

bash# file /usr/local/LiteratureAndLatte/bin/Scrivener
/usr/local/LiteratureAndLatte/bin/Scrivener: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.15, not stripped

Because the Linux version is a build of the Windows (i.e. x86-family) codebase, and because demand for a non-Intel build is going to be extremely limited (two people? three?), I wouldn't hold out much hope for a PPC version.

I've only ever tried it with the 1.3 series of wine. *If* you could get it compiled, you'd still need the C++ redistributable, and I think there would be a conflict with it, since it's assuming intel.

Thanks, I thought as much but you never know if someone might have found a trick out there that you don't know about, unless you ask.
