I installed 1.2.1.0 on my windows home 7 machine. It then would not open, saying something (sorry, forgot to copy/paste) about a failure in the 'side by side windows'. It stated that it wrote something to a crash dump file, but I can't find it.. perhaps because I had to do a system restore to fix Scrivener?

Next time it happens, try reinstalling the C++ libraries. Even though it's installed, they become corrupted, and reinstalling it will fix the issue.

Like I would know how to do that??

I guess my son could do it for me. I'm into writing, not C++ ;)

Here is a quote from a related thread here that explains how to install C++ libraries:
Eddie Tex wrote:For those of you seeing the "side-by-side configuration" error, the issue can be resolved by downloading the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)" at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=5582.

Hope it helps.
