Activation issue....once again

After all those hassles with the Paddle error, I had hoped things were finally fixed. But over the past couple of months, every now and again, Scrivener will revert to trial mode because it isn't licensed. Sure. So the only way I can get it to work again is by recovering a lost license, via email, even though I have the valid serial number on file. Same thing just happened again, but this time around, the email I received told me I "have no order history for Literature & Latte". So I used the website to recover, which sent me an email with the serial number (which is exactly the same as what I have on file). Why are these problems still happening?

I occasionally have to re-enter the validation information as well. I call up the saved email with the serial number and copy-paste what's requested. Scrivener v1.9x runs just fine until the next verification check, when I do the same thing all over again and Scrivener v1.9x runs just fine until the next verification check, when I do the same thing all over again and Scrivener v1.9x runs just fine until the next verification check, and on, and on.

Don't you do the same, or do you keep sending to trash your information emails regarding your validation information?

Surely your required validation information isn't changing each time, is it?

I'm wondering if it's not actually an issue with Windows 10 Updates.

I have a similar problem with a completely unrelated program and every time Windows 10 Pro updates it cause this particular program to revert to trial mode.

I checked the Windows Update Logs and found each significant update will cause this to happen.

Easily sorted - I keep a text file with the 20 million digit serial number from my email in it and simply copy-paste.

Nuisance, but not the end of my world.

Might be worth checking.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

Good luck folks.

Yup. I just experienced this for myself: Windows 10 updated, I restarted my computer and Scrivener reverted to trial version due to inactive license. The above steps fixed it.
