Why does is there news on the home page of Literature and Latte dated 2017? Is that what the company considers new?

When will the product be updated? Give us a date, please. I guess Windows 3 is in line with three-year-old "news". Love the product, greatly disappointed that the company can't maintain two platforms in a two platform world.

What is the release date?

Here's another idea. Is the company for sale? Maybe new ownership would invest the capital necessary to keep the product line current and create a robust future. Just curious.

Windows Scrivener 3 is in public beta testing. You can download it here:

That's also the place to look for progress reports.

We do not announce release dates.

Is the Beta safe to use in terms of protecting the content, saving work, not losing any writing?

You are unlikely to lose work. You may find that missing or buggy features can impact your ability to extract your work from Scrivener. So I'm not sure I'd recommend it if you have an imminent deadline. But reports in the beta forum indicate that people have been using it for several months without showstopper/data loss issues.
