Hi all,

I'm running the latest Scrivener 2.6 on Mac 10.10 Yosemite.

I decided to change my writing style to a fixed word count goal every day, which Scrivener's Targets feature happily accommodates. And this works well with Yosemite's built-in Notification Center as well -- except when writing in Composition Mode.

In Composition Mode I don't get notifications for going over/under the Session Target I specified, whereas if I'm in the regular OS X fullscreen mode, or windowed mode, I do get them. This is somewhat annoying as I tend to write in Composition mode and having to check my word count/have the target goal counter open when I'm pressed for time is distracting. I would love for even an option to have notifications in Composition Mode!

EDIT: So I checked again, and the Notifications DO show up in the Notification Center, but the popups and dinging noises don't work in Composition Mode.

Thank you

Yeah, this is expected behaviour. The presentation mode that is used to shove aside the Dock and menus assumes that one will only ever use it for things like watching videos or giving a Keynote slideshow, where obviously you would want all notifications suppressed. We've lodged a request with Apple to provide an override option when setting up presentation view, but as I recall they weren't interested. So, that's just the way it works. :|

If you install Growl, Growl will be used and the notifications will work - this is purely a limitation of Apple's Notification Centre.

Koa, thanks for letting me know that this is an OS issue, and not a Scrivener one.

Keith, thanks for letting me know about Growl! I had it before the Notification Center was added to the OS but figured I didn't need it now, guess I was wrong!
