Trying to figure out what is generating specific text for a .tex file

I'm using the Scrivener Make > MultiMarkdown -> LaTeX script alongside a Bibdesk integration. In the resulting file I see the text from Scrivener and \input commands which bring in templated LaTeX configuration. I also see the following bibliography-related LaTeX, e.g.:

Code: Select all

\begin{thebibliography}{0}

   \bibitem{kk94}
   kk94;

\end{thebibliography}

This code generates natbib errors when I compile the LaTeX. I'm able to manually replace this code with a

Code: Select all

\bibliography{}
command, but can't figure out how to prevent Scrivener from generating the offending LaTeX in the first place. Is this code coming from Scrivener or the BibDesk integration? And where can I edit or prevent this from occurring?

I a looking for exactly this information, I want to handle my own latex bibliography and this auto-generated bibliography is redundant, how can I switch off?
Thanks
