Thanks! That was lovely.

..

And perversity, done right, shouldn't be puerile!

werebear,

It is lovely and so evocative of what the actual daily demands of being a writer (with attendant moggie), must entail.

I have the moggie, but lack the `talent and demands`, for my day to be as the monk relates, but, the poem evokes so much, it doesn`t have to be.

I shall inform any lobbers of accusations in my direction, of,`Puerility`, that werebear said to tell them to........!!

Take care

There is no retraction required, my dear young Vic. I was musing on my own childish drivellings, nothing more.

Perversity done right... Now that's a notion to ponder!

The Beast of Bodmin, Puerile!!!!! Puerile Sir!!

You unmitigated bounder!

You just cannot go around slight slinging, with the apparent gay abandon that you do.

The Beast is a satirist of the highest caliber, and an exponent of the art of `Gutter Humour` Par Excellence.

Again Sir your retraction, if you please.

Good lord, I go away for a couple of days (attending a convention) and the thread goes to the dogs... ;)

For the record, I was aware that the correct plural form of virus is "viruses", but saying "virii" is an old habit of mine on the Net - ironically because most of the time when I say "viruses", I get flamed by people who think it's incorrect...

An individualist of your standing following the crowd? What's the world coming to? *sigh*

@Vic - Now look 'ere you mancunian hotrod. If I choose to classify my slovenly attempts at whimsy as puerile, that's my prerogative. My wooden alliteration moved no further than a 'P' - probably because I needed one at the time. Now here you are, persistent in implying I possess a particular perspicacity, and pursuing an apology on the premise that... ArrGHH! WOULD SOMEBODY PEEL THIS EFFIN' P OFF ME PLEASE? :x

*Huh* See what I mean? Puerile!

antony,
As far as I can figure,`virii` is the plural of virus, but , a Latin word no longer in common usage. Its use has been superseded by `viruses`, when used in reference viruses of the organic kind. However, as far as I can tell, it`s still in fairly common usage, when dealing with software nasties, by those who`s role it is to do so.

As someone knowledgeable, answering a question concerning Antivirus Protection, virii is not an inappropriate choice at all if your aware of it.

The reality of the situation is: a lot of us are much better informed than we were.

As for the thread going to the dogs, antony, the unfortunate reality is:
some members of the ships crew are incapable of non-puerile behaviour for anything in excess of..of..er.. the word nanosecond springs to mind, but that only aplies to a few of them.

Welcome back to the ship. And thanks again for helping make me see the light.

Take care

PS We`ll all just have to sit back and let Roy work through the self image problem he`s struggling with, and just be there for him if he needs us.

Judders, old friend,

Don`t abandon yourself to Fate`s vagaries and vicissitudes. For she is a fickle mistress, given to toying mercilessly with her paramours affections, before cruelly tossing them aside, like well used hand rags. Treat her with the same disdain, and toss` her`, aside, post-haste.

Having once done so old friend, take yourself in hand (metaphorically of course), and contemplate the much broader perspective, presented to us, (unfettered by fanciful and pointlessly lustful imaginings), by simple reality.

In truth, my old friend, simple reality shows us that there, `is`, a life beyond `P`, we just have to embrace that change.

In case anyone else is interested, http://www.maczot.com/ has Intego for 40% off for the next 11hrs and 50 mins or so. Everyone tells me how safe OS X is but I'm wondering if it can last.
