Not verbatim, but near enough, "When I was 14, I was embarrassed by how ignorant my old man was, but when I was twenty one, I was staggered by how much he had learned in just seven years." Mark Twain.

Ha, you can find a whole bunch of my favourite quotes... But I can't tell you how, as at Easter you are supposed to search for the eggs yourself...

What's this? Buckets of Twain but no Wilde? Come on Britishers, you ought to hold up your end of this jig.

A sentimentalist is someone who doesn't yet know that an emotion must be paid for

Seriously, everyone, I need some help.

Somewhere in my tiny pea brain is a vague memory of someone famous saying (re: baseball), "Doesn't anybody here know how to play this game?"

I want to use this to start my rant/screed about the disappearance of English in the US, but I need attribution. Have searched various internet sites unsuccessfully.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. In payment I can ship you some of the beautiful snow that fell today.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much! I knew it was someone like that--I was trying to fit the words into Yogi Berra's mouth, but it wasn't working. Well, I must continue my rant...maybe something will come of it.
