In my soon-to-be-finished novel, I have a scene with a female boxer. As part of the research for the scene, I hooked up with two boxers in the New York area. One thing led to another, and I ended up making a documentary about them (my day job). As it turns out, the doc is out before the book, broadcasting this month on PBS around the country. I've attached a flier, and it has a link to a website where local PBS broadcast times can be found.

If you have an image of boxing, or of female boxers, this is not that.

Michael Penland

(The novel is being rewritten in Scrivener, as was the script for the documentary.)

Very cool, Michael. Big congrats!

In theory, there's no difference
between theory and practice.
In practice, there is.

I’m looking forward to it. I’m a huge boxing fan, although the business side of things is questionable and often despicable.
Having survived a near-fatal accident, Ann-Marie is already an inspiration.
Thank you very much for posting.
