My debut novel to be published

I wrote my first NaNoWriMo novel last November, and in March, this year found an agent. Last month, I was signed by HarperCollins. The novel, The Cartographer, is a literary novel of 112 000 words, and was written on Scrivener, the greatest invention since the ballpoint pen. Could I have written it without Scrivener? Yes. Would I have had as much fun? No. But more importantly, Scrivener is the right tool for the way I write. I like to have as many things open as I can, and I use most of the functions and tools. 'Keywords' is, I think, so hot. I have a 27" screen, so I would really like to be able to open 3 or 4 'split' screens. But if it's not in the new version, that'll be ok, as I'm sure I'll be able to find a way to rig it.

Well done! It is always excellent to see someone cross the line between aspiration and achievement and as we all know, this particular journey is a long one.

Be proud :)

Congratulations! I have a historical out this year from HarperCollins as well. Sounds like I would like Cartographer. I'll keep my eye out for it!

Congratulations! Although Scrivener 2.0 won't have more than two splits in the same window, it will have QuickReference windows for opening more documents. Oh, and as I said to Vanitha, if you ever feel like writing us a small testimonial for the published authors page... :)

Congrats again,
Keith
