My book on Kindle, thanks to Scrivener

I'm very excited to announce that my mystery novel, "Abuse of Discretion", is now up on Kindle and Smashwords. Although the book started in Microsoft Word, I moved it into Scrivener as soon as I got a copy and my productivity has skyrocketed since.

For the interested, here's a brief description of Abuse of Discretion:

Child Protective Services social worker Tessa Riley has a lot on her plate. She’s responsible for the safety and welfare of Purisima County’s most vulnerable citizens. At the same time, her own life is full of a chaos disturbingly similar to so many of her clients: Tessa’s daughter is losing her battle with addiction and poverty, and Tessa’s raising her grandchildren. Her on-again, off-again romance with attorney David Ellroy is foundering, and some days Tessa feels like it’s all she can do to keep her head above water.

But Tessa’s commitment to doing the right thing is strong, and so when a child on her case-load disappears and later turns up dead, Tessa knows she can’t just walk away. Then the threats start coming, and Tessa knows she has to get to the bottom of what happened.

What she uncovers is a monstrous conspiracy, where children are commodities for sale to the highest bidder — and they have Tessa’s own family squarely in their crosshairs.

I'm already hard at work on the next book in the Tessa Riley series, tentatively titled Manifest Error, which is of course being written in Scrivener. Thanks, Keith and company, for a spectacular piece of software!
