Re: Considering iOS for Scriv. How do YOU use it?

I have Scrivener on my iPad Air 2 and Windows 10 (beta 3). I use it in more or less the same way as @Silverdragon appears to. I use it Scrivener to keep two websites going, and on one of them I post daily. I write much of this into my iPad. I also write academic papers and stories. These get´mainly ...

Re: iCloud Sync

Dropbox keeps getting worse . More memory usage in the desktop app. Higher prices for less storage. Scrivener is still the sole reason I’m tied to Dropbox. It’s a bummer. In my experience Dropbox does not ”keep getting worse”. In nobody’s experience is Dropbox offering ”higher prices for less stora...

Re: What does iOS 13 mean for Scrivener iOS and iCloud Sync?

If you think this discussion is irrelevant or useless then why are you posting replies? I’d think you’d just not participate. I won’t guess at your motives but you might want to speculate why you feel the need to join a discussion that in your opinion is useless. Erm, because it is a discussion for...

Re: Can Scrivener 2 on Windows open a Scrivener 3 file from MacOS?

There is no Scrivener 2 for Windows. There is 1.9.something and there is the beta 3 (which IS numbered as 2.9.something). The beta version should do what you want and it is almost ready for prime time. I have been using the Windows beta version and the iOS app for almost a year now with no problems ...

Re: New to writing software

It all depends who the "others" are, which is difficult to discern from your post. If they are editors who will directly collaborate / overrule you then Scrivener may not be the best choice ofsoftware for you. StarDog2 is completely correct about this. On the other hand, if they are peers ...

[LH3556] Issue with Project Bookmarks in Beta 16

Now starring in a thread of its own: (I posted this on another thread and got gently reminded that the rule is "One bug, one thread" - which makes perfect sense to me.) Here is another small bug that I think I have found. Alternatively something has changed since I last tried to do this. I...

Re: Several minor bugs in Beta 16

Here is another small bug that I think I have found. Alternatively something has changed since I last did this. Every month I remove an item (the folder named for last month) from the Project Bookmarks and add a new one. I then rearrange them so that the List goes something like: April, May, Essay, ...

Re: Spelling Error Wavy Line Is Now Barely Visible Dots

I agree strongly with this. I have one project in which I write daily in Scrivener and then copy and paste into Wordpress. I used to catch all the errors in Scrivener. Since v16 I am catching most of them in Wordpress and having to go back into Scrivener to fix them. I thought it was just me. Its go...

Re: Scapple Feature Request

If you need something more complex you should use a more complex software, like Cmap tools https://cmap.ihmc.us or iThoughts https://www.toketaware.com . CMap Tools is a fabulous piece of software especially because it forces a particular kind of discipline on you. Making a concept map can be a hug...

The new Help > Search Menubar feature in Beta 9

I am obeying Lee's request not to clutter up the Beta-testing forum with things other than bug reports, and therefore posting this here. I have just tried the new Help >Search Menubar feature and I think that it is fantastic. I found something I had misplaced at once. Congratulations. This is a magn...

Re: Creating new project is not working for me

Hi, I just sat down to answer your questions. 1. I started by trying to create a tutorial project. This worked as it should. I got asked to name it, decide where it goes, and then when I pressed to Create it, the process worked. 2. I then tried to create a project using the Blank template. This work...

Creating new project is not working for me

I have been happily using the beta for several months, working on projects that I have already started. I now went to create a new project and discovered that I couldn't do so. I went to new project and the Template dialog appeared. I chose a template and a name, and left the destination folder as i...

Re: Incompatible versions between Mac and Windows

I have been using the beta version for about four months on two projects that require daily writing, and I can attest to the fact that (for me at least on a Windows 8.1 laptop) the beta is very solid. I work on Windows and on my iPad and sync between the two with no problems, using Dropbox. The prim...

Re: Anyone else using the BETA for their work?

I use Scrivener (among other things) for researching and writing articles for my wesite. I use it literally every day, since I have a daily photo-diary. It has never needed compiling and probably never will. As a direct result of this thread I have switched over to using the beta version for this, a...
