Re: Sharing my Name Generator files

Um. Could you explain how to use your name files with Scrivener?

Slowly and step by step, please. I are an idiot.

Re: Ok, I give up, what do Keywords actually do?

You know, that explanation of keywords is too good to let fall down out of sight in feedback.

Maybe move it to the Tips forum? Or add it to the manual or something like that.

Re: Doing a compilation resulting in a reset to zero words?

Thanks for the replies! Yes, I religiously do a backup to zip at the end of each session, so I guess I'm safe. (BTW, I did a full compile for validation last night, everything went perfectly.) Glad to know about the "16" solution. >>(Where are you seeing these reports, by the way? I want t...

Doing a compilation resulting in a reset to zero words?

I'm doing Nanowrimo (on track to win, yay me!) but the last few days I've read several, like maybe six or seven people, saying that after they compiling their novel they ended up either unable to open their novel at all (with error reports that the file was now incompatible with their version of Scr...

Sneaking in additional displayed doc info

(I apologize for putting my previous thread in this forum. I hadn't read the rules, sorry!) Right now there are only two ways to display meta info about your doc file in the cork board: labels (by pin or patch, and possibly card color) and the status stamp. My current project involves a long series ...

Re: 2 How To questions from a newbie

Thank you for such a fast reply!

I have a dropbox account, but I thought I'd read many bug reports about it screwing up Scrivener? So I've been avoiding it.

Thanks for the info on how to do a partial compile, that sounds just like what I need and is safer.

2 How To questions from a newbie

I know the answers are somewhere in the manual, but I'm in the midst of Nanowrimo and behind in my word count and I promise I'll read it all in December, okay? 1) How/can you change the paragraph style? I want a blank line between paragraphs and no indented first line. Can I do this? And, if possibl...

Re: Main Toolbar Not Appearing in Tutorial (035)

I downloaded the latest NaNo version yesterday, and went through the interactive tutorial as a refresher, and found some other stuff wrong/confusing/different than expected. Quotes from the tutorial in between **: ** Let’s take a look at the Header View. See that bar at the top of the text, the one ...

Yay! I am the proud owner of a copy of Scrivener. :) :) :)

Now you *have* to carry on to actually releasing it. Ha!

Re: Timelines ??

Here's my inelegant but workable solution. My timeline is now 100+ events, so I uploaded an early version to provide the gist of it. It works pretty well, actually! My historical events are dated (see below), but my fictional events (which are not included in the image) aren't. This allows me to us...

Re: Feedback wanted: Windows equivalent of the gear icon?

I just installed Internet Explorer 9, and it hides all it's tools/menus below a gear.

Hey, if it's good enough for a Microsoft windows program..... :)
