Compile to outline with metadata

I have a compile that gives me an outline of chapters and scenes (a novel) with synopses. Is there a way to include word count and a couple of custom metadata with the scene title?

Re: Trying to get outline and synopsis

Oh, my goodness. Did I look at the "new page" check box? The one I NEVER use? Of course not.

Thanks much for leading me to a slap-the-forehead solution

Trying to get outline and synopsis

I am trying to modify the Synopsis Titles or Synopsis Outline compile to generate a chapter-numbers/title (for a folder) followed by title and synopsis for documents. I have succeeded but for one problem: no matter what I do the Chapter/Title comes up fine, followed by the first document title and i...

Outline numbering within Scrivener

Is there any way to automatically outline number (files: 1,2,3 ..., documents within files, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 ...) within the Scrivener software?

Re: strange quote marks

devinganger,

Yeah, I thought that, too. If I select only the single or double quote, it still says TNR. I wrote the post to see if anyone had an easy fix that would help prevent another line edit of the whole book. Guess I'll start editing.

Re: strange quote marks

ScriverTed, I THINK I typed them straight into Scrivener. That's my normal practice. The thing that befuddles me is that if I select just the straight quote, Scrivener tells me I'm in TNR. I discovered a while ago that compiling out of Scriv into Word generated straight quotes. Then I unchecked the ...

strange quote marks

I have an ongoing issue with single and double quotes. See the attachment Screenshot 2017-03-17 20.22.35.png I am writing in Times New Roman, a serif font, so all quote marks should be curly. In the sample, some of the dialog is correct (curly), but the bottom line is straight. If I select that line...

mass replacing font

Is there any way to do a project replace on a font style? My novel uses TNR for everything but text messages that appear throughout the 88,000 words. I have used Helvetica (and Format/Formatting/Preserve Formatting so that the compile to Word works) for the texts. I just discovered that the Helvetic...

Fonts and compile

Microsoft just forced me to 'upgrade' to Word 2016 (the subscription version). One good thing came out of the change: When I compile from Scriv to Word, the text actually comes out on Word the way it was on Scriv. In Word 2011, my compile using Times New Roman was read as TNR for words, but sans ser...

Re: COver not showing

"Cover compile option pane"?

I've attached a picture of the compile function I've used ... epub with "Front Matter" selected. Under 'e-book' I have only the cover (also pictured attached).

COver not showing

I am trying to create reading drafts of my novel in epub, .mobi and PDF. I have a cover. I'm selecting Front Matter in the compiles. I get a generic cover in epub, nothing in PDF. See attached, which shows where I have the cover and a bit of the cover itself.

What am I doing wrong?

Import and split-- scenes within chapters

I recently compiled my first novel into .doc, did some work on it, then imported it back using File>Import>Import and Split. The Word file used ## between scenes. In my (possibly imperfect) recollection, the import brought in chapters as folders, with scenes nicely tucked into the folders. Is that p...

Re: Font Size in comments

Interesting ... When I move to the comments section, the font window says Verdana 10 but produces the enormous letters in the example. If I select the comment, then type Command-minus several times, I get down to "normal" size ... but the font window says Verdana 2
