Re: Formatting for .mobi

I unpacked a Scrivener produced .mobi file with the KindleUnpack Calibre plugin and found a potential issue with the enclosed epub file. The chapter xtml files within the EPUB are missing the link to the stylesheet css file. <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="../St...

Re: Formatting for .mobi

This issue has been around for ages. I first reported it for RC5 in May 2020. Since then, I've done the same as you - use Calibre to convert to Mobi format. It would be nice to get it fixed for the release version. That said, when I last published a book via Amazon KDP, the web page suggested upload...

Re: [LH4861] RC6: Error message trying to add separator to Mobi Ebook

Thanks for the fix. It was just two images, and I worked around it by importing the image files with Sigil and editing the src path.

Re: [LH4861] RC6: Error message trying to add separator to Mobi Ebook

I don't know whether this is a new bug, or something that got introduced in the fix, but I found a problem when I tested on a finished project. In the project, I had some images in ebook front-matter, imported using <$img> tags, but when compiled the image src tag is garbled: <div class="front-...

My Surface Pro 5 does exactly the same thing at 250% scaling.

Re: compiling for kindle

Another thing to consider - if you're compiling to MOBI for publishing with KDP is that Amazon now promotes upload of EPUB. over MOBI.

Last time I uploaded a MOBI file, KDP prompted me to use EPUB instead. MOBI files still work, but they seem to prefer EPUB these days.

Re: [LH4861] RC6: Error message trying to add separator to Mobi Ebook

Thanks! It's a good fix actually, because when I ran it on a completed project, the compile trimmed some manuscript text from the end of several chapters.

Re: [LH4861] RC6: Error message trying to add separator to Mobi Ebook

Hi,

Is see that the image problem is fixed in RC17 (thanks), but there is still an underlying problem with malformed HTML. Try loading the test project epub file in Sigil - it reports issues with corrupted HTML.

Re: RC6: Error message trying to add separator to Mobi Ebook

Hi,

I've attached a zipped project showing the problem. The zip file includes an example of epub output (epub 3).

Re: RC6: Error message trying to add separator to Mobi Ebook

Hi, I posted this some time ago - checking today; I see that it's still an issue in the latest RC - Just wondered if its something on the radar for fixing. Also, I've since discovered that the issue affects both Mobi and epub. Essentially, I add a graphic section separator - in the output ebook. It ...

[LH4755] Change Left/Right or Top/Bottom prompts for settings restart

I noticed this change which adds Top/Bottom to options->appearance>Main Editor When I change either left/right or top/bottom scrivener prompts "Scrivener needs to be restarted for some of the new settings to take effect." However, after changing either of those settings, the change is imme...

RC11: Epub 3 indent CSS not working on Kindle Cloud Reader

Hi, A reader notified me that a book I'd published via Amazon KDP didn't display indents when viewed on the Kindle Cloud Reader (https://read.amazon.com/). My epub file, generated using the Epub 3 compile format (and edited with Sigil) passed all pre-publishing checks, rendered correctly on Kindle P...

Re: RC11 HiDPI: fit page & fit width greyed out

Thanks, that setting works for me. I set a zoom factor that works across both screens.
One thing that I did note, was that Editor Margins: Left/Right affect top/bottom as well.. Can I adjust top/bottom separately?

Thanks

[LH2962] RC11 HiDPI: fit page & fit width greyed out

Hi,

When trying to zoom, I note that both 'view->zoom->fit width' & 'view->zoom->fit page' are greyed out - is that expected? I was hoping to set zoom to 'fit width', to avoid manually zooming when changing between my Surface Pro 5 screen and an extended monitor.

Thanks
