I take back any implied criticism of Scrivener Also glad Apple fixed their bug; mind boggles how that got through their QA (surely stuff like this would be covered by their automated tests).
Thanks for taking the time to respond KB. My writing life without Scrivener would be miserable.
Yes all my Macs on 10.11.2 - Interesting, existing character sheets still broken, but if I create a new one, it works. So I guess the corruption must get saved to the individual RTF files. I can recreate those easily enough. (I'm sure I tested this yesterday though... perhaps my head is also buggy)....
Update: Also if you copy paste misaligned text into textEdit, you can then adjust the 2nd-line + wrapping in the ruler at the top, which fixes the issue; so it suggests that it's not Apple's code that's broken as such. Either they changed something, or Scrivener has a bug. It's ONLY scrivener that e...
Any progress with this alignment thing? It has effectively made the character sheets useless to me now. Was trying to update character bios and it's an alignment mess. Even creating a new folder (not based on character templates) & copy pasting and the mess persists. Will have to rely on somethi...
I'd been using iCloud for main store for my writing files for a while and it was fine until I accidentally opened Scrivener on one of my other machines. At which point it all got in a mess, with the .scriv file no longer appearing as a package (it became a folder). Anyway, these days I set Scriv's b...
I use MM at work when coding and I love it, but I find a trackpad more handy at home. When I'm writing I don't really want anything that takes my hands away from the keyboard (I touch-type fairly quickly). I usual writing machine is a 2015 Macbook which has a large trackpad - no need for a mouse.
You can do this with most modern Macs too (they all support 4K). The cable is the only bit you need tow worry about as in this brave new world cables now have versions... (1.x - 2.0), which support caring degrees of resolution (2k-4k), 3D, networking and audio. Oh and if you have one of the new MacB...
At least under OS X Scrivener uses bugger all memory: ~200Mb with my current 150,000 word project (double that length with notes & dozens of references images and docs). But all those files mean, potentially, a lot of disk IO, so a slow disk (non SSD) could impact performance more than RAM. My o...
The iPad Pro is rather delicious - the deal was (in this house) that I got a 2015 Macbook (also gorgeous) for writing and my wife an iPad Pro for artwork. As art machines the new iPads are incredible. My bank account is empty.
Heh. Well you're right! If you type the digits quickly, you can enter 2016. Looks like if there's a delay off more than ~250ms, it only lets you enter two digits. You can still use the spin dial and end up with years ranging from 1 to 9999, it appears. Which is a somewhat bizarre bit of UX! I'm fixe...
Retested - it's definitely something weird with that field. If I hit the spin buttons I can (eventually) get it to 2016, but it refuses to let me type in any more than two characters. Here are my system settings for reference: Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 10.22.00.png Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 10.22.22...
