But are you saying the desktops *do not* go to sleep automatically? I spent atrocious amounts of time trying to tune my iMac to do just that...

Well, I just upgraded to Leopard. I like it, except for a couple of things - you can't close the Sidebar without also closing the Toolbar, and you can't have a folder in the Dock that isn't a Stack. Plus the Stack icon being whatever is first in order in the stack is annoying...for some stacks it c...

Yep, I wanted to download it (the name attracted me, half of my family being Japanese), but all my data-basing needs are met by Scrivener and DT pro for now.

Looks very well made, though.

My 24" iMac never goes to sleep by itself. I always have to manually put it to sleep. I've tried everything, and no solutions work for me. But at least when I put it asleep, it stays asleep till I wake it up.

This is one of the Mac topics on which I've given up.

Yeah, this has scam written all over it. No good screenies... no trial... no community support... poor website graphics... no beta I could recall. Apparently some websites identified it as a Neo Office 2.1 sold with unlimited user support (the free version offers no support, only user forums). That...

Thanks Keith!

You're right on with both points. I did play with the beta a while ago (then put it aside), and I did migrate my data with the Migration Assistant.

Will follow your advice, hope it'll fix it.

Crash on PowerBook G4

Hi Keith, I've been using Scrivener for a long while now. Till recently I've been happily writing one project on two computers: iMac 2 Core Duo and PowerBook G4. However, today I decided to reinstall OSX on my Powerbook to clean it of all the trash accumulated over the years. The first thing I did w...

Gaijin - sounds like you have set the "Default Editor Width" preference to something massive, which is recommended in preferences if you want the window to fill the screen. However, in the new beta, "Fixed Width" is switched on by default, meaning your text view could be massive...

Great stuff! 8)

Only one thing: when I begin typing, my cursor stays in the same spot, and the text goes to the left and disappears under the left frame. Maybe it's a matter of setting the correct preference?

I'm in a standard book mode, no screenplay or anything fancy.

I've been using Spell Catcher for that. It's a matter of personal preference, I guess. They all seem to do the same thing.

Indeed, that's the feeling I recall from playing with the program a few years ago... Nothing helpful came out of it. I lost my old registration code, even though I'm still sitting of a box full of Story View manuals and CD's. Maybe I won't bother restoring my registration. But I'm still impressed wi...
