Re: Splitting the editor into more than 2

And Quick Reference panels — you can have as many of those open as you want, I think. This is a screenshot of a 27" screen with 8 editors open - 2 'normal', 2 'copyeditors', and 4 'Quick Reference panels'. (It's on an iMac using Parallels with Win Scrivener V3.) Screenshot 2021-03-28 at 09.28.4...

Re: Outliner columns & related menu functionality

Thanks Devin... @ srebrnafh I'm glad you found it — hope it will be useful! BTW: The same options *don't* appear in both the menu and in Preferences: they're different, and which location they're in is based upon how often you're likely to use each option. Scrivener usually follows what seems a logi...

Re: Outliner columns & related menu functionality

I've just checked and the Fixed Row Height *is* there — you're just looking on the wrong menu :D: As I said, the option is on View > Outliner Options > Use Fixed Row Heights (not in Options). If you look at the icon I highlighted in one of my screen shots, you'll see that it's there in the Windows v...

Re: Outliner columns & related menu functionality

(I'm not at the Mac which has Parallels so I could check the Windows version, but...) On the Mac there are three ways to change Columns in Outliner view. 1. Via the menu as you've been doing 2. Right-click on the column header bar 3. Click on the little > to the extreme right of the column header ba...

Re: Seeing diagrams when in Outline mode

Ah, I see — I was originally going to suggest using the cork board as well, but you said you wanted to see the outliner and I assumed you actually wanted to see both the synopsis and the picture. There's no reason you can't do both, of course, if you do need to see the synopsis or other data, if you...

Re: Seeing diagrams when in Outline mode

Fair enough, but in what way is it not providing what you want? The method above shows you both outliner text and your diagrams, so you must have something different in mind as to how that would work -- could you describe that in more detail so the developers (not me...) can assess the request?

Re: Split text into several files, reassemble it when compiling

Doesn't it have to be a bit more complicated that that though? You're removing the separator line, but you're still leaving the </p> from the preceding section, and the <p class= etc from the next on, so won't it still treat them as separate paragraphs? I think you may also need to escape the "...

Re: Seeing diagrams when in Outline mode

Have you tried using split screen? It you go to Windows > Layouts > Three Pane (Outline) , you'll get an outline on the left, and an editor on the right, which shows either (a) the document currently selected in the outline, or (b) the entire Scrivening (scrolled to the selected document) — you can ...

Re: Sync with multiple External Folders??

The rule is "one Scrivener project has one external folder and one external folder has one Scrivener Project". You can't share folders between Scrivener projects, or vice versa. The mechanism is there so you can edit the files of a single project in another editor, not to act as a central ...

Re: Split text into several files, reassemble it when compiling

GR has explained how to join the 'Text sections' together (as I was typing a reply... :D:). You can also make the first X words of the subchapter be upper case. 1. Instead of having a separate binder document for the first 'text', just put that content into the text of the Subchapter itself, and set...

Re: Paragraph style keeps reverting back to default settings!

It's impossible for any of us users to say if it's a bug without seeing the project, but before you report it to the developers as a bug, I'd check the following points: 1. Which version of Scrivener are you using, on which version of MacOS? The latest version is 3.2.2 -- earlier versions had a few ...

Re: Insert a custom image in the Custom Section Separator field in Compile

I think you're probably right about the image needing to be its own - it hadn't occurred to me that this could be the problem, so I'm glad you pointed it out!

Thanks!

Re: Insert a custom image in the Custom Section Separator field in Compile

That's a good point, @Merx.

The 'glyph' png I use in those screenshots was dragged into the Binder from the finder: it wasn't inside a text document.

Thanks.
