Book 3 incoming!

The Prince of Lies , the final instalment of my fantasy trilogy (written mainly in Scrivener, natch) comes out in just over a month! http://www.annelyle.com/nights-masque/the-prince-of-lies/ If you're in London on Halloween, I'm doing an "early bird" signing at Forbidden Planet ahead of t...

Re: iOS Update

For a preview of what could go horribly wrong if not done properly, pop on over to Mariner's discussion board for MacJournal for IOS. Arrrgh, horrible. Gods, yes! I had to ditch MacJournal, as the syncing was just painful. Seamless syncing via DropBox is certainly possible - YNAB (You Need a Budget...

Re: iOS Update

Missed the news, as I try not to check too often - sorry to hear about Jen, but great news that you have a new developer on board. Go geek girls! (I'm a web developer myself) I actually upgraded to an iPad 3 in anticipation of Scrivener coming out this year, but I don't regret my decision. The Logit...

Two novels published, another in progress

I guess I'm well overdue for posting in this forum... I started using Scrivener way back in 2007, just before I embarked on my second NaNoWriMo. Over the next few years I used Scrivener to help me rewrite both my NaNoWriMo efforts, which have now been published by Angry Robot Books: * The Alchemist ...

Re: Two bugs - word count & project notes

I'm seeing the same wordcount bug in the OSX version (2.4.1). I'm using the Outliner view with the total columns showing, so that I don't require a separate spreadsheet (I used to do it the same way as Ed, until I worked out that I didn't need it). However the wordcount on individual documents keeps...

Re: Welcome to our new team member - our iOS developer
To that point, Some of the previous posts in this thread mention that the writing components may not be as robust as some other iPAd apps. So, my next question is how do you guys envision iPad users will employ Scrivener into their workflow. Do you see us writing in qui...

Re: Editing an old NaNoWriMo project

Sounds like a great plan! Both my published (well, one published and one coming out later this month) novels started out as NaNoWriMo drafts that I rewrote with the help of Scrivener. Admittedly I often resort to physical index cards - the switch to something tangible engages different areas of the ...

Re: Trying to decide between iPad / Macbook Air for Scrivener

Hi Claire I have both an 11" Air and an iPad (I know - gadget lust!) so maybe I can help? I'm currently using Scrivener on the Air synced with Notebooks on the iPad, and in conjunction with a Logitech Ultrathin keyboard I find that the iPad fulfils my basic writing needs pretty well. Of course ...

Re: "Scrivenings" view for synopses?

Oh, cool - you learn something new every day! I've been using Scrivener since 2007, but I confess I don't explore its nooks and crannies as much as I should :(

Re: "Scrivenings" view for synopses?

Good point - hadn't thought of that! I mostly use Outline mode to track word count and therefore have synopses hidden. I'd have to slide the columns around a bit between usages, but it might work...

Thanks!

Re: Best keyboard / case combo for writing on iPad while commuti

A little late to the party, but I have two more suggestions: 1. A LiveScribe pen - though if your handwriting is iffy and/or you're not used to writing longhand, you may not get much mileage out of it. I'm finding mine invaluable for searchable plot notes, though. http://www.livescribe.com/ 2. An Al...

"Scrivenings" view for synopses?

Not sure if this has been suggested before (I did search...), but when I'm developing a novel I often want to read the synopsis as a whole and edit it as I go, to try and get the story flow right. I can do this in corkboard view to a certain extent, but because the index cards are a uniform size it'...

Re: Welcome to our new team member - our iOS developer

Thanks for the update, Keith! (Just remembered it's a whole year since I met you at BristolCon!) @wordchiseler - assuming that Scrivener can even run on an iPhone (I suspect not, based on screenshots - not all apps can run on both sized devices) I think you're looking at a 3GS minimum. My husband ha...
The reason that no release date has been posted is that we are nowhere near to having a release date yet.
Does that mean that the previous "end of 2012/early 2013" has been blown out of the water? As an iPad 1 owner, I have to consider when I need to upgrade m...
