RC10: Problem with pdf paperback output

Hi, I am trying to output using Paperback (6" x 9"), but it's not rendering page number or header. I did the same test with Paperback (5.06" x 7.81") and it rendered both page number and header - author name/title on alternate pages. Both tests were done with default settings. I ...

Re: [LH3871] Question about ebook output (mobi)

Thanks, good to know it'll be implemented. I've been editing using the Calibre editor.

[LH3871] Question about ebook output (mobi)

I've added a title/copyright page to the ebook front-matter (between the cover and dedication). When it's compiled it renders the pages in this order:
Cover/Table of contents/ Title page (new)/dedication.

How can I move the table of contents after the dedication page?

Thanks

[LH4682 ] RC9: Issue with "Number of opening words to make uppercase" compile option.

I found this option doesn't work well with contractions or hyphenated words. Firstly, Scrivener seems to count hyphenated words/phrases as being two (or more) words - if the last word is hyphenated, the second part of the hyphenated word is displayed lowercase: "It was six-thirty" Displays...

Re: [BUG] Not creating compiled file

The only time I had no output from a compile was because of Windows Security Folder Projection (antiransomware) - I had to whitelist Scrivener.

Re: RC9-Bug: Strange chapter numbering problem with paperback formats

Looking at the settings for Paperback 6x9, Section Layouts tab,The placeholder used Title Options for 'Chapter Heading' is <$n: chapter> whereas in Manuscript (Times) it is Chapter <$t:chapter>. You can find the explanations for how each is meant to work in List of All Placeholders in the Help menu...

Re: RC9-Bug: Strange chapter numbering problem with paperback formats

Thanks for the info. I changed <$n: chapter> to <$t: chapter>. The result was interesting - it correctly displayed from 'One' .. 'Seventeen", transposed 'Eighteen' with '1' then displayed 'Eighteen' and 'Nineteen'.. Quite odd! I think the project structure is ok, at least other formats, such as...

RC9-Bug: Strange chapter numbering problem with paperback formats

Hi,
I have a 20 chapter novel - when compiling using either Paperback (6"x9") or Paperback (5.06"x7.81") chapter 18 displays as ‘1‘ and what should be chapters 19 & 20 displays as ‘18’ & ‘19’ respectively.
Other formats work ok,

Re: em dash search

Thanks for the suggestion, I don't have a keypad. But I found a solution . Created an auto-corrected em dash with two hyphens and copied that into the search.

em dash search

Hi,

How does one search for an em dash in text? I tried typing two hyphens into the search, as that's what the em dash is auto-corrected from, but it didn't work.

Thanks

Re: Formatting styles not working for .mobi

Well I compiled and output to Word.docx, then translated that file through Calibre to .mobi and everything that was supposed to be centred, was. It was centred in Word before the translation, too. I tried using Calibre docx conversion too, When I used centred text for the separator, it worked fine....

Bracker wrote:No, but my post here is a bug report. Trying the High DPI version won't fix the bug in the non High DPI version.

That's true, but the High DPI version was introduced to fix this problem with another dialog. Hopefully they'll merge the two versions before release..

Re: Formatting styles not working for .mobi

I see the same centering chapter/separator problems with .mobi output. I partially fixed the custom separator by importing an image into scrivener, centering it then using <$include:Separator>.. But this only worked for one chapter - after that, the image got replaced by a default, and the html trun...

Re: [Beta 43] Whole word option doesn't work in Project Replace

I found out the hard way. After finishing the first draft of a novel, I changed a character name from Mo to James. Literally every occurrence of 'mo' in the document got changed to James! I tried to reverse by changing James back to Mo, which kind of worked - but any word starting with capital Mo (M...
