Feature Request – Scapple Edition! ;)

I know Scapple is a largely feature complete and deliberately simple application, but I do feel that I need to raise this suggestion with you as it’s something that would present a material time / energy saver for me as a user, and so I’d hope would for at least some others too! More importantly, it...

Re: Scrivener for Mac or PC?

PG Wodehouse was one of the worlds most prolific writers. When once asked how he managed to be so productive, he replied simply: I just love typing. I love this image! Wodehouse sitting at his desk, pipe gripped between grinning teeth, as his hands bounce joyfully up and down on the keys of his belo...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

With the caveat that I'm happy with v1.9 & I understand development takes as long as it takes & L&L is (understandably, can't make everyone happy etc.) conservative in whether to give estimates/updates, etc., Is the official estimate of v3 delivery in 2020 still good (say, 80% chance)? ...

Thanks. Ok. It sounds like there really is no choice but wait until v3, then.

Re: Feature request: Open Scrivener 3 files in the current Windows Release

I don’t think anything is a safe assumption when it come to major tech development projects. But anyway, my point was, there’s a trade off of time to implement interoperability for official releases via v3 versus v1 update. Depending on expected time to implement both, the most user friendly answer ...

Re: Feature request: Open Scrivener 3 files in the current Windows Release

Hmmm. Whilst my heart is normally on the side of the defence in these sorts of posts, I have to see this sounds like a perfectly reasonable request to me. My gut is that if LL had known about the time lag between Mac and Windows moving to the v3 format, they’d have put a v1 version of Windows out wi...

Re: NiaD X

Unless you’ve actually participated in NiaD it’s impossible to imagine the level of stress and confusion when the email arrives after midnight. :D Yup, it’s a tough day!! Hopefully the kind of challenge we find fun, though! But yeah, I hear you. The before/after NiaD photos of my wrinkles and hair ...

Re: NiaD X

Good morning, fellow humans! I'm very happy to announce that the 2020 NiaD award badges have now been uploaded! Sorry about the delay this year -- we had some technical issues that meant things took a little longer than usual. We're investigating a new badge hosting approach that would solve this pr...

There are three types of people in the world... those that can count and those that can’t.

There’s not a whole lot to go ‘dark’, though. Just a thin window header if you don’t have the inspector open.

If you do have the inspector open you can easily change the document color and text defaults.

Re: Scrivener 64 bit for Windows

I don’t know why anyone would use 32bit. I don’t want any loss of fidelity when reading back my text and there doesn’t seem to be any noticeable difference in file size from my typing recorded in 64bit vs 32. LL seem to have really nailed the compression algorithms.

Re: The Great Big Scrivener Survey

This honestly came as a surprise, because "Scrivenings" is one of the core features and is covered in the tutorial (where it has its own section), so in theory ( :) ) it's one of the first things people learn when using the software. Yeah, but it’s one of those things that’s so core to th...

Re: I know you are, but what am I?

Just to let you know, my phone battery is now sufficiently charged so it’s going to turn itself off low power mode.

Hope that helps clarify things.
