Re: .deb for 2.9 beta is here!

Aw, you're welcome, guys. I'm just happy to be able to contribute something, especially given my limited skills in this area. Scrivener is the entire reason I started learning how to make .deb packages. My apologies that I didn't get to it sooner, and that I didn't include the name generator databas...

Re: [Error] Name Generator not found

Worked for me, man. Thanks. Next time I build a beta .deb, I'll include it.

.deb for 2.9 beta is here!

Here: http://robhamm.com/legacy/primary-categories/scrivener-linux-29-beta :-) I installed it on my 64-bit Ubuntu 11.04 running Gnome 2 (using dpkg). It should install on 32-bit systems with a double-click. In case anyone hasn't already seen the instructions for 64-bit systems, I included them in th...

Apologies for the lack of a current .deb package

I hadn't intended to stop building .debs for the beta releases after building only a couple, but it seems a little late to build one for a beta that expires on the 15th. Assuming there are more Linux betas before a final release (or if the final Linux release is a tarball), though, I'll put together...

Re: 024 deb?

@JG Starsoupsky-- I uninstalled the package I put together and installed yours using dpkg -i --force-architecture scrivener_0.2.4_i386.deb (sudo dpkg -i --foreign-architecture i386 scrivener_0.2.4_i386.deb didn't work for me--Just threw a bunch of errors.) Working great so far, and thanks! The two p...

Re: 024 deb?

Hm. Very strange. It installed for me without a hitch. I'm not a developer by any means, but when I have time later tonight I'll dig into it and see what I can do. And wait... I didn't realize there was already a 2.4 deb posted. Where is it?

Re: 024 deb?

I made a deb for 2.4. It's at http://robhamm.com/legacy/primary-categories/scrivener-linux-24-beta It installed just fine via the Ubuntu software center, and is working fine, as well. (Except for spellcheck on my 64-bit system. That is likely an error on my part, though.) Right like not knowing basi...

Re: Beta 023 .deb available

EDIT: Here's the .deb that I put together for 2.3 that installs and works on my system. http://robhamm.com/temp/scrivener-beta_2.3_all.deb Nothing fancy, but it installs and runs. Any idea why the other one wouldn't work for me on 64-bit? Hm... On Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit I get a wrong architecture erro...

Re: Prior Docs causing Add a New Doc to make app Crash

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to best get the research docs (web research say off of news media, cnn, bbc, other sources and info) that I want to copy off the web and into documents? I was copying the data off and dumping it into a Word doc followed by the URL, because there have been ...

Re: 25th MARCH - LEE"S UPDATE - FINAL BETA RELEASED

Anyway, here where I am, in the Land of the Great Firewall, real writers write with a brush using ink that they grind on a stone, which they've probably paid more for than I have for this MacBook Air. :) Dude... You and I need to talk about a stone-and-ink-smuggling... er... I mean import-export bu...

Re: 25th MARCH - LEE"S UPDATE - FINAL BETA RELEASED

Cough. I'd be embarrassed about that if I weren't so pleased to be able to open my novel on this computer. (I had managed to get the backup open on y other laptop, but this is much easier.) Thanks and, er, sorry. Date issue? What date issue? Your secret is safe with us. Ain't nobody seen nuffin', r...

Re: 25th MARCH - LEE"S UPDATE - FINAL BETA RELEASED

We had a thread a while back on the Mac forums by someone who asserted that "Professional writers only write in white characters on a blue screen", and so wanted the whole interface of Scrivener changed to that as otherwise it couldn't be considered a serious, professional writing tool .....

Re: 25th MARCH - LEE"S UPDATE - FINAL BETA RELEASED

Re: Linux packaging: Thanks Rob you're a star mate, I'll make sure this gets copied on our servers as well. Probably time we looked at a more co-ordinated effort anyway I know a few folks suggested that in the past and things just got busy and the ball was dropped. I'll action this early next week ...
