[LH4861] RC6: Error message trying to add separator to Mobi Ebook

Hi, I am trying to add a custom separator to Mobi ebook using this <$img:D:\Downloads\sep.jpg> tag - see compile screen below. The same tag works fine for epub and docx, but when compiled for Mobi, I get this: Warning(inputpreprocessor):W29003: Closed unclosed tag: Warning(inputpreprocessor):W29003:...

Re: [LH4572] [RC6] Scrivener crashes if composition mode is opened multiple times.

Hi,

F11/ESC/F11 etc crashes on my Surface Pro too. However, machine gun tapping F11 does the same toggle on/off, but doesn't seem to crash. I suspect it is slightly more involved than just the keyboard buffer.

Re: [LH4567] RC6 high DPI version not working?

Best to use one or the other, as they wouldn't be fully isolated if you had them installed side by side and it might get confusing. But you can easily test one and then replace it with the other, as you choose. Both have the same beta expiry date and same features; the difference is just in the DPI...

Re: [LH4567] RC6 high DPI version not working?

I have a Surface Pro and want to tryout the DPI version. Is it intended to be installed separately for testing or over the top of RC6?

Re: Import Word document tracked changes

Thanks for the info. I tried another approach - increased the font-size in the Word document, printed to PDF then imported into Scrivener - the PDF contains both the comments and tracked changes. Shame that Scrivener can't handle tracked changes, but this works for me.

Import Word document tracked changes

Hi, I received a marked-up Word document (docx) from a beta reader, containing inline comments and tracked changes. My goal was to import to Scrivener and view split screen alongside the manuscript. After importing I see the comments in red, but it does not highlight the tracked changes. I found the...

Re: [LH4291] Search doesn't find apostrophe

Thanks for the reply, regex seems like a good workaround. Anyway, glad it's on the bug fix radar.

[LH4291] Search doesn't find apostrophe

Hi,

Using RC5, I tried searching for the string kid's in my manuscript, but it came up as "Not Found". On further investigation, it can't find any string containing an apostrophe.

[Bug]Mobi ebook output, chapter heading not centered

Hi,

I don't know whether this constitutes a bug, or some issue with my configuration, but when I tried outputting to mobi in an earlier beta, the chapter headings were centred. But now in RC5, they appear left aligned.

Re: Best laptop etc for typing experience with Scrivener (for Windows)

I've been using 2 in 1 devices for a few years, the current one, a Surface Pro 5. Typing wise, the keyboard is fine, as good as any laptop keyboard I've used. At first, using the Surface Pro on the lap felt strange with the kickstand - it only touches in one place, and felt unstable, even though it'...

Re: Compile Window "too big" for 13 inch laptop and runs off the screen

I have a similar problem with a Surface Pro 5: 12.3" display, 2736x1824, 200% scaling. On the compile screen, the bottom of the edit format window appears under the taskbar, hiding the save/cancel buttons. I have to auto-hide the taskbar to access the buttons.

[LH4492] RC2: Importing a web page

Hello,

I noticed that importing a web page (Add->Web Page) sometimes misses images.

For example: https://self-publishingschool.com/how-t ... -dialogue/

The page contains images relating to dialogue attribution, the first is displayed, but subsequent ones are missing.

Thanks

[LH4703] Whole word option doesn't work in Project Replace

Hi, I was about to report this bug for the previous version. As the subject says, the Whole Word option doesn't work for Project Replace - it seems to work as Contains. For instance, take the following line: "This morning Mo woke up early" I want to replace Mo with David in the entire manu...

Re: Editing the first draft of a novel

Why is it worth your time? Everyone who sets out to write a novel knows they need a first draft, although they don't really know what that is, so they write a beginning and an ending and fill up the space in between, and declare: my first draft done! In reality, what they probably have is a lot of ...

Re: Editing the first draft of a novel

I'd suggest compiling to PDF before trying to print the whole thing out, using one of the manuscript compile formats. Then maybe print out one chapter and give that a go editing on paper before you commit to hundreds of sheets of paper. Some people use a big iPad + "pencil" and a good PDF...
