What Do You Really Want For Christmas?

Let the imagination run wild. What do you REALLY want? No not peace on earth . You don't REALLY want that do you? And don't wish for Sarah, it could be a nightmare. And don't wish for accelerating climate change, even though it's cold in your country. Think of all the polar bears floating on t...

Re: Dear Sarah

I would like to see someone from any party lead an honest attempt to simply get us out of the mess we are in. How abut Sarah :D. The mess we're in is a plot from Russia. And who is better to handle that than Mrs Palin? As she opens her bedroom window in the morning, she can plainly see Putin rearin...

Dear Sarah

The America we know and love is not one in which your parents or your baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a...

In defense of diplomacy

In an interview Swedish foreign minister codemned Wikileaks becuase it damaged diplomacy. Well spoken Mr FM. But how about defending the TRUTH. Without the truth there is no democracy, only lies and diplomacy. In a post a long time ago I described the war that goes on between different levels. The w...

Re: How to spot a bad programing book

I would suggest that bad is relative in this context. Yes "bad" is the wrong word here. "Low quality" is perhaps better. And I mean "quality" in Pirsig's sense. I have nothing about simple books. For instance "C Programming Language, by Kernaghan and Ritchie "...

How to spot a bad programing book

Look for one of the folowing words in the title
24 hours, 21 days, Cool, Definitive, Understanding, Mastering, Instant, or Dummies

If the book has one of these words in the title, there's a big chance that the book is bad.

Re: New computer, a Mac of course

I have a 15 inch and a separate 24 inch monitor screen. So when home I use both screens, when I'm away I only use the 15 inch. (If I'm away and just want to read things and not create anything I only take my iPad with me).

Re: Apple is just about to die

If it is difficult to predict these things, which I agree it sometimes is, why use such foreboding terminology when you opine Sorry for the misunderstanding. If you read the whole thread you will see that I'm a big Apple fan and have been so since 1984 when I bought my first Mac. The post you are r...

Re: Apple is just about to die

I have read that Apple is projected to surpass Exxon for the number one spot Exxon is 331 Billion while Apple is 287 Billion. During the last 5 years Apple has grown over 400% while Exxon only 11%. So the scenario of Apple surpassing is not impossible. However it's hard to predict things, especiall...
