Re: Screenwriting Mode Editing/Auto-Complete Issues...

KB wrote:Since posting I added (to 2.0) the ability to create new auto-complete items in the auto-compleste list by hitting return, as you can elsewhere in the interface. :)

Ooooh, so then in 2.0 will this be possible when adding new labels, statuses, etc.?

Re: Auto(Un)Save?

There may be a better way to hijack the autosave function, but you could try going to the general preferences and just entering a huge number for "autosave after (NUMBER) seconds." It wouldn't completely get what you want, since eventually it would save everything, but it'd delay it a bit....

Re: Corkboard views

Yay. The other option Keith was talking about, if you in future didn't want to always switch them to folders for the Compile effects (which is really the only reason to make a distinction between a folder and a document group, as far as I know), is in the Preferences>Navigation window--you can check...

Re: Scrivener Folder Icon?

If you open the icon folder in preview, you can select all and copy the actual image there, then select the icon in the Get Info window for whatever folder's icon you want to change and paste the image there.

Re: Corkboard views

Specifically, you want to go to Scrivener>Preferences>Navigation>When in Editor Mode Open Folders and select corkboard.

Re: Scrivener Folder Icon?

Thanks for sharing these. It's probably a sad testament that having a fancy icon is what finally made me gather all my projects in one, easy-to-exclude-from-Time-Machine folder. Not the utility or convenience or potential organizational benefits, but the appearance. :| But hey, it's a nice icon. Jus...

Re: Going from Index Cards to Editor?

Regarding the return key, you can go to Scrivener>Preferences>Navigation and uncheck the box for "return creates new item." It won't give you the function you're looking for--return will instead allow you to edit the first text field (card title in the Corkboard, title or whatever's listed...

Whoops. I stand corrected. Sorry for jumping into panic mode! :) I didn't see it on the webpage when I double checked, and the whole "order software on a burned CD" scam leaped to mind. Glad it's all happy and for real!

Re: Installation from the CD

Since you already have a copy of Scrivener installed (the trial you downloaded), moving the application from the CD* will overwrite that existing version. Technically, there's no reason to do this, since the trial is the full version of Scrivener, and all you need to do is enter the user license via...

Re: Full screen mode with Edit Scrivenings -- binder context?

I couldn't remember the expected behaviour myself, which is why I said to try it. :) Heh. I will carry on without, then, until the magical and revolutionary 2.0 is available for purchase, at which point I will buy it and all my dreams will come true and sunshine will break forth and a chorus of ang...

Re: Full screen mode with Edit Scrivenings -- binder context?

Thanks for the quick response! Using the icon in the header bar still gets me the entire ES selection in the Binder, alas, whether or not the Editor is locked. (Don't know if this is unexpected behavior then--running Scriv 1.54 on OS X 10.6.3.) You're always dropping these tantalizing hints about 2....

Re: Full screen mode with Edit Scrivenings -- binder context?

I've been searching the forums and the help because I feel like I'm missing the obvious, and this is the closest I've found to what I'm looking for, so I figured I'd resurrect this for a moment. When I'm in Edit Scrivenings and choose "Reveal in Binder," all the documents in the ES session...

Check out this thread. You can achieve the easy word count overview you're looking for via the Outliner, as explained there.

Re: Smart Folders

You can essentially do this by creating a saved search. Use the Status field to indicate what stage a document is at--first draft, second draft, etc. (many are factory settings, but you can make your own to suit your purposes)--and then run a search for a given status, choosing in the dropdown to se...

Re: Using the corkboard with document 'stacks'

I'm probably missing the point here, since no one's mentioned this, and I feel a bit silly commenting, but since I use this feature for a similar purpose I figured I'd share. It isn't the same as viewing the top level in the corkboard and then double-clicking to expand a drop down of a particular fo...
