Re: Batch Rename Folders

p.s. the version i have includes the ability to do a global change of titles -- but it didn't work. i'm assuming i have version 1 as i started as a beta user. so, the good news is i have it. the bad news is it doesn't function. I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to do. Project Replace in the b...

Re: Hyperlink - don't want split

You can change the behaviour of clicked links in the Behavors pane of Scrivener > Preferences; select Document Links on the side and you'll see a variety of options to control how the links work.

Re: Bug: Version: 2.9.9.16 Beta - Project Target Word Count doesn't update. Files marked as "Include in Compile" don't s

Regardless, I went ahead and marked the files I wanted to be counted in Compile and then went to File>Compile. The files marked don't show there in an organized little list like they do on Scrivener 1. The only file that does show is the one I'm working at the moment. Not even selecting different s...

Re: RC17: text missing and manuscript word count target no longer being tracked

Regarding the target count, the options are set to only be showing the count for the current compile group. If you open File > Compile, is the content list on the right set the way you expect, with "Manuscript" selected in the dropdown at the top and the chapter documents listed for inclus...

Re: [LH4796 ] Text clipped at R.H. side of editor

Thanks, we have this on the list. You should be able to work around it for now by increasing the right/left margin in the Main Editor settings under the Appearance tab of File > Options.

Re: How do I get the editor part to fill the whole page and not be centered in the middle

In the 3.0 beta, Scrivener's default settings have enabled a fixed width for the editor to avoid overly long, difficult-to-read lines of text in the editor on wider screens. You can adjust the width or turn the feature off in the Appearance tab of File > Options...; you'll find it under Main Editor.

Re: RC17 - "Sync to Folder" seems all messed up

It sounds like the sync mapping has gotten messed up for the project, so that the wrong external and internal files are being paired up. Where is the external folder saved?--is it being synced with another computer/server, e.g. via OneDrive or Dropbox? Is your editor accessing the synced RTF files d...

Re: Filename extensions for imports into research folder

The file Save As dialog on Windows isn't quite the same as on macOS and it doesn't show the extension for the file. However, imported images can be opened in an external editor, and if you have the file extensions shown on the system, they'll be visible there, as e.g. "content.png". An eas...

Re: Underlining not exported to Word docs

Ah, interestingly, the test file you uploaded opens in Word 2016 with the underline intact. It looks like this is more a compatibility issue with LibreOffice. For the time being, I think your best option is probably just using one of the other compile formats that does retain the formatting when ope...

Re: I could not import images from MS Word document.

This could be a limitation of the converter being used for importing the file type (I'm assuming DOCX here). Two things to try for improving results: 1. In File > Options under Sharing, select the Conversions tab and click Import Converters, then choose DOCX from the dropdown on the left if it is av...

Re: Underlining not exported to Word docs

I tried on Win 10 using a new blank project, default Scrivener settings, and compiling to DOCX with the Default format (with the document assigned to the "Text Section" layout, which uses the formatting from the editor) to open in Word 2016; underline (and italic) carried over without issu...

Re: [LH4828] [RC15 HiDPI BUG] Context menu not dismissing after choice is selected

@Charlson, sorry I'm late getting back to this. The setting is only available for items that are containers, so the submenu would be disabled if you had a single text item selected rather than a folder. Otherwise, as long as the focus is in the binder (or outliner or corkboard) with the container it...

Re: [RC16] Doubleclick doesn't open corkboard

This is behaviour on the corkboard; if you double-click on an empty space on the corkboard, it should open the parent corkboard. So if your binder structure is something like Draft -Folder A --doc 1 --doc 2 -Folder B then when Folder A is loaded on the corkboard, showing its contents doc 1 and doc 2...

Re: [LH2888] - Right Click in Binder Changes Document

@Tiho - Yes, sorry, what I meant on the Windows side was the complications of the Qt framework; it's not a "simple fix" to change the behaviour. :) @jwhitten - JJSlote makes a good suggestion here too, that you may also find it more helpful or straightforward to load documents in the secon...
