Re: How to delete a line below a menu letter?

s there any way to turn this off? Not that I am aware of. Those lines are provided by Windows when the programmer puts certain information into the program's resource file(s), so to turn them off, L&L would have to provide a way to modify the resources on the fly. You could try something like R...

Send an email to support. Licensing issues are normally not handled through the forum.

Re: Release notes ?

The download link is right there, at the link you posted....

OP is asking for the release notes, not the download link. The beta forum posting that normally had the RC change list now just talks about the release of 3.0.

Re: Error (Version 3 release) - Could not open RTF file for writing

In most cases, this is caused by antivirus software blocking Scrivener. Whitelist Scrivener.exe in your antivirus software and try again.

Re: Composition Mode_Full Screen_Controls not showing

The composition mode toolbar seems to be on automatic autohide, so move your mouse to the bottom of the screen and see if the toolbar appears.

My taskbar gets covered in composition mode, so you made need to experiment with your taskbar settings in Windows.

Re: Search Results column, Find Results highlight color issues

I could not duplicate your problem of the search results/binder colors. Are you using Scrivener V3? The Project Search highlight color is controlled here:

Re: Installing on top of previous installation leaves old registry values

How would I check thousands of entries to see if they're safe to remove? Click the "Legend" button in the upper right corner of the screen when RFA is either running a scan or has just finished, then look at the bottom three entries in the legend window that appears. They explain what the...

Re: Installing on top of previous installation leaves old registry values

RFA insisted I turn on recovery point protection, found 1000 invalid entries so far, Some programs write incomplete registry entries that serve their purposes, but do not meet MS standards, so RFA flags them. If you remove those entries, the app typically creates them again. No harm done, but it ta...

Re: Installing on top of previous installation leaves old registry values

Can anyone direct me to the correct location in the registry, which I'm otherwise comfortable backing up and editing? Generally, installation information is in one of these locations: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR...

Re: Spell checker

right-clicked and selected 'Spelling' When you selected "Spelling," you were telling Scrivener to start a spell check of the entire document, beginning from the current caret position. If you just wanted to correct the word you highlighted, Scrivener gave you some choices at the top of th...

Re: What is this?

A little history trivia about why some word processors do not have something like WordPerfect's Reveal Codes feature: WordPerfect files are a byte stream, so it's pretty easy to locate and display most codes. But Word files are mostly a system of containers and doing a complete Reveal Codes would be...

Re: Can't launch RC 19 on W7

You could also look in the Event Viewer under Windows Logs / Application and see if there are entries timestamped with the time you started the program. If you want to make sure you're looking at the correct time, open Event Viewer, then open the app and wait for it to shut down, then go back to Eve...

Re: Quick search error

L&L: It appears to be only the Quick Search that is not highlighting the found word/phrase. Find and Project Search seem to work as expected. This is in RC17.
