Re: Home and End Buttons

Ctrl-Home and Ctrl-End take you to the top and bottom of the document, respectively. Many other programs use these combinations, such as Word, Notepad, and other types of editors.

Re: Suddenly can't find manual in Resources folder, even though it is there.

The early releases of the 3.01 installer put the manual in the wrong folder, and the manual PDF has a new name. So copy Scrivener-Manual.pdf from the Scrivener3 folder to the resources subfolder.

Re: Bug with bullets

This bug was reported during the beta within the last few months, but I don't know where it fits in L&L's priorities.

Re: Windows version 3.01 update

You need to whitelist Scrivener.exe in your antivirus software. This has been answered many times on the forum.

Re: The best feature ever would be opening...

Currently, I open multiple projects (up to three) and they each take a chunk up on the task bar. I'd like Scrivener to appear once on the taskbar. You can do that now by going to Windows Settings and under Taskbar, change "Combine taskbar buttons" to "Always, hide labels." Yes, ...

Re: Remove margins in main editor

What you are looking for sounds like File/Options/Main Editor/Appearance/Options/Editor Margins. Set them both to zero points.

For those of you trying to find the user manual in 3.0.1.0

L&L changed the name of the help file from manual-win-letter.pdf to Scrivener-Manual.pdf, but the 3.0.1 installer puts the file in the wrong folder. To get the Help menu item and pressing F1 to work, copy or move "C:\Program Files\Scrivener3\Scrivener-Manual.pdf" to "C:\Program Fi...

Re: Issues with license server

Other software have the license written somewhere inside after entering it. So there is no need for any external checks. That statement is not accurate. Any license embedded in a local file can be decrypted because the key is often also on disk, though may be difficult to determine. Companies like ...

Re: Using F1 to see the manual.

L&L messed up some of the installation, but the help file is still available. Instead of putting the PDF into the resources folder, they put it in the main Scrivener3 folder where the program is not expecting it. You can fix the problem by moving or copying C:\Program Files\Scrivener3\Scrivener-...

Re: Scrivener 3 for Windows: How to include document synopsis and notes in compile?

You do that in the Section Layouts. Go to Compile, then either double-click the section layout or select Edit Format from the gear icon in the lower left corner. Check the Synopsis and Notes boxes for whichever sections you want to see them.

Re: Tileable backgrounds.

It looks like that is only supported if you are using the fixed width editor. See File/Options/Appearance/Main Editor/Colors/Fixed Width Background, and click the Choose Texture button.

Re: The best feature ever would be opening...

Notepad++ uses tabs as part of the program, I don't see why Scrivener can't.

Since Notepad++ is mostly a wrapper around the Scintilla editing component, comparing it to Scrivener with its coordination between editor panes, Inspector, Binder, Corkboard, and other components is hardly the same thing.

File / Options / Appearance / Textual Marks / Inspector Footnotes Background affects the inspector and the background in the editor.

Re: Dragon+NaturallySpeaking

Here is a reply Katherine (user = kewms) gave when someone else asked about Dragon support in Scrivener: You should ask Dragon's support team that question. They do not publish an API or any information that would allow software developers to improve their program's interaction with Dragon. Any impr...
