Re: Save Selected to Scraps

Unless I'm misunderstanding the request, the tools for this are already present. After selecting the text, right-click and choose Append Selection to Document > New... . This will open a dialog that uses the initial text of the selection as the default title for the text and allows you to choose the...

Oh good, I'm glad you've got it working again! That will help when going to compile, as well, so that your whole manuscript structure is available. The funny thing is that I changed Scrivener's language to English, instead of System Language, as was the default. Everything changed to English, but fo...

Re: RC17 - Scriv 1 project from iPad iOS 9.3 now doesn't convert at all

Thanks for the follow-up. So looking at this, I still think there may just be some confusion regarding the UI. When an iOS project is first opened on the desktop, the binder is collapsed to the top level, so you're only seeing the root folders. But you should be able to expand the Draft and see your...

Re: RC17 - Scriv 1 project from iPad iOS 9.3 now doesn't convert at all

Hi Clive, thanks for the report. Looking at the project attached in the initial post, I see three documents in the Draft folder, the first with no title (using placeholder text from the document) and the second two with their titles. Some sample text in each and synopsis text in the third. Is this c...

Re: Adding multiple items to a folder in the Binder

The Move To command is also in the context menu, so this is actually quite easy--run the project search for the term, limiting it to a specific field if desired (e.g. only items with "sourdough" in the title), Cmd-A to select all in the search results, Ctrl-click, and choose Move To > the ...

Re: No blue when I copy

Highlight color controlled by the operating system, not Scrivener (far as I know). However, I cannot discount that maybe somewhere in Scrivener they give you that control. I suggest you hunt around in Preferences. Scrivener does allow the text selection to be customised in Preferences, under Appear...

Re: Batch Rename Folders

p.s. the version i have includes the ability to do a global change of titles -- but it didn't work. i'm assuming i have version 1 as i started as a beta user. so, the good news is i have it. the bad news is it doesn't function. I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to do. Project Replace in the b...

Re: Hyperlink - don't want split

You can change the behaviour of clicked links in the Behavors pane of Scrivener > Preferences; select Document Links on the side and you'll see a variety of options to control how the links work.

Re: Bug: Version: 2.9.9.16 Beta - Project Target Word Count doesn't update. Files marked as "Include in Compile" don't s

Regardless, I went ahead and marked the files I wanted to be counted in Compile and then went to File>Compile. The files marked don't show there in an organized little list like they do on Scrivener 1. The only file that does show is the one I'm working at the moment. Not even selecting different s...

Re: RC17: text missing and manuscript word count target no longer being tracked

Regarding the target count, the options are set to only be showing the count for the current compile group. If you open File > Compile, is the content list on the right set the way you expect, with "Manuscript" selected in the dropdown at the top and the chapter documents listed for inclus...

Thanks, we have this on the list. You should be able to work around it for now by increasing the right/left margin in the Main Editor settings under the Appearance tab of File > Options.

Re: How do I get the editor part to fill the whole page and not be centered in the middle

In the 3.0 beta, Scrivener's default settings have enabled a fixed width for the editor to avoid overly long, difficult-to-read lines of text in the editor on wider screens. You can adjust the width or turn the feature off in the Appearance tab of File > Options...; you'll find it under Main Editor.

Re: RC17 - "Sync to Folder" seems all messed up

It sounds like the sync mapping has gotten messed up for the project, so that the wrong external and internal files are being paired up. Where is the external folder saved?--is it being synced with another computer/server, e.g. via OneDrive or Dropbox? Is your editor accessing the synced RTF files d...

Re: Filename extensions for imports into research folder

The file Save As dialog on Windows isn't quite the same as on macOS and it doesn't show the extension for the file. However, imported images can be opened in an external editor, and if you have the file extensions shown on the system, they'll be visible there, as e.g. "content.png". An eas...
