Items not showing

I have a project with 113 items in it. For the last 3 weeks or so, I'll delete a line in a file, any file, and the text will double before being deleted. Yesterday, text stretched before being deleted, and today all the files in the project would not display text when a file was selected. I restored...

Re: Rule-based highlighting to aid authors in reflecting on their writing

I just tried Hemingwayapp. Brrr. I do not like the decisions it makes. For every decision it makes I can argue why I should leave my words as they are and for why that is better. To each his own.

Re: Rule-based highlighting to aid authors in reflecting on their writing

Twain's skill at dialogue would be destroyed by an algorithm. They do impede creativity and are best used by those who already have the judgment and the knowledge. My students, if given choices for improvement, wouldn't know how to make the best choice--that's why skill and knowledge are needed to u...

Re: Scapple Export preserving connections?

Having read the above, and thinking I understand, could there not be a way to export a board as a folder structure? I can see that multiple connections to one node might create issues, so perhaps chop it off there, but otherwise keep the structure? It would be less re-wrtiing/organization if a bit m...

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know any of that. I'm having memory issues--my machine is, anyway. That's what was going on.

Re: Multiple pages/columns (3+) for single document

Besides Split Screen, I think the closest way to achieve what you want is through keeping multiple windows open and tiled. However, the Binder displays a list of all documents and allows the user, through Scrivening mode to see docs in combination which provides something similar.

Re: Create Custom Template Categories

You can put projects in the Project Templates folder in LibraryApplication Support/Scrivener/Project Templates that will show up in the Chooser. Perhaps that helps?

Re: Wish: To-Do/Task List

Scrivener has a Favorites feature which I use to keep a list of docs as a general todo list. I use the doc notes for, well, things to do for that doc. :D

Re: Project template for teachers/classes?

I use Scrivener to organize my classes and have tried various ways to make templates. My school teaches in 10 week sessions, so I organize weekly. I haven't found any templates online that are more conventional. Outside of Scivenrr, I am looking at an Evernote/Google Docs/Google Forms combination. I...

This is a great discussion. I want to interrupt it with a call to back everything up in many instances and ways. I didn't. The fault is all mine. Don't be like me.

Re: Empty Projects, Empty Lives

I have tried all suggestions and the files are gone in all locations. My last chance is to ressurect a dead backup drive.

I'm sure I deleted the wrong version at some point and Scrivener was not the cause.

Thanks for the help.
