Dear Gojira54, The answer to your issue is to use Paste-and-Match-Style, rather than Paste. If you do that, you can without any fuss insert your Copy or Copy-Formatted citation from Endnote into the body of a Scrivener footnote that you already have started--which I think is what you were wanting. -...

. Here is a zipped copy of the structured story-development template. If your browser has trouble downloading the bare template file posted earlier, you might try this. --gr Quick Instructions: Download the zip file, then unzip it (i.e. double-click on it); unzipping creates a like-named folder in w...

Settings are saved in the preferences by the project path. And before you tell me this is a bad way of doing things, go tell Apple. This is just the standard way of saving such settings. I don't know why you say this is an Apple thing. I've never had files from any other program change their view s...

Ah, but you should not forget to figure into the price that Keith is going to need to hire (or program?) a Forum Doppelganger or Post Ghost to shoulder some of the load that his accolades bring--in order to have any time at all to write that book, or have a life, or hack out the next awesome thing (...

Keith, I wonder if one of the following might not be simple and worth doing in the interim to alleviate some frustration with this behavior of Scrivener. >> 1) When Backup Project (w/o zipping) is chosen, save the settings of the new project in the prefs file, or 2) add an explicit Save-a-Copy item ...

Tim, there is a way, but it is rather awkward. You would have to send your Scrivener preferences file along with the Scrivener file, and then instruct the person to place the project file in precisely the same location as you have it. And then, that is *all* of the preferences. A wee bit of overkil...

I had had the same wishful thought as Amaru. It would allow me to retire a little spreadsheet I set up that converts word or character counts into page counts for a variety of formats. Here is a suggested implementation (for whenever it comes up on the list for consideration): Where you have the pag...

James, It seems to me that if you have a big document you are going to split up in Scrivener, you should just not enter any keywords for the big document that would not be pertinent for all the splits you want to make of it. And if you have a big document that you already went to town on with keywor...

Yes, it would be great if you could take a look at one of these. On its way to you now under separate cover.

P.S. No, I have never edited any of the rtfds in the project packages--though I have peeked under the covers.

Search function problem

I have half a dozen projects in which the project Search function does not work--though it works fine in my other projects. I enter a word known to occur in one of the documents. In some of the projects, the search returns no results. On one case, it picks up several documents where the term occurs ...

I think pastorj is not trying to, e.g., uncolor the text, but just wishing that the buttons on the toolbar would toggle the palette windows open and closed.

mwinter, Here is my best armchair guess: 1) If you were typing your stuff onto the index cards (i.e. in corkboard view), then the text you entered is in the synopsis area (not the body text area) of your documents. Now, if you did a Draft export using the defaults this would include the body text of...

While Keith is working on a 1.02 programmatic fix, here is how to fix-up a project which is effected by the auto-complete problem discussed in this thread. (This fix worked for me on all problem projects on two different installations.) MY INTERIM FIX-UP: Symptom : In the project, none of the ways o...
